NATO bombing of Libyan rebels, Careless accident or targeted killing?

Western military sources have now acknowledged that its precision bombs were the ones which dropped on Libyan anti-Gaddafi forces yesterday which resulted in at least 12 deaths, 7 Mujahideen and 5 civilians – medical staff travelling to the front to help the battle injured.

Initially NATO questioned whether its forces were to blame at all, then when video footage of the attacks emerged said it did not know the rebels even had tanks or military vehicles…

This despite the rebels having informed western military planners to this fact days previously and that they were going to be moving a group of tanks, armoured vehicles and rocket launchers near the front line between the towns of Ajdabiya and Brega in more than 30 transporters precisely so they wouldn’t be targeted by western planes.

Now Libyan rebels have painted all their vehicles pink on the roof to warn off western places as Anders Fogh Rassmussen, the political head of NATO refuses to apologise when confronted by journalists, leading to simmering anger on the streets of Benghazi and demonstrations against the killings by Western planes for the first time in the rebel held capital city.

Accidental or by design?

So at the very least this is a massive cock-up by the air forces of Britain, France and America but is it perhaps something more? The rebels not being able to move without western knowledge would certainly be very useful to NATO.

The Libyan rebels killed who had gained access to this military hardware are reported to be ‘Islamists’ in the parlance of the western press, Muslims who seek a full implementation of the Shariah, the laws of God almighty and have been the most negative against rebels seeking alliance with the secular kufr governments of the west even if it is against another secular kufr regime of Gaddafi and sons.

This bombing is therefore likely to lead to a further dividing of opinion between the rebels fighting at the front, and the self appointed and avowedly secularist political leadership in Benghazi who seem happier hobnobbing with the heads of international governments in the recent London conference last week than getting themselves in any danger approaching the front lines.

Groups like the Al-Jama’a al-Islamiyyah al-Muqatilah bi-Libya (Libyan Islamic Fighting Group) are often as frightening to these secular leaders as they are to Gaddafi’s forces and unlike the poorly trained other volunteers have veterans of the war against secularism in Iraq and Afghanistan are now at the forefront of the battle against the Murtad taghoot Gaddafi and his forces.

Sometimes fighting to the death to hold ground where necessary and often being the last to leave otherwise in a fluid civil war that has seen towns like Brega and Ajdabiya change hands several times now as first one side gains an advantage, before being pushed back again later in this bloody civil war which has already cost the lives of tens of thousands of civilians and countless hundreds of men on both sides.

Martyrs for Islam not Secularism

Link – Video of a Libyan martyr (Inshallaah)

In another proof of the intentions of the fighters at the front being influenced by Islam not western ideals and philosophies is the above linked video. This has been leaked and shows the execution of a suspected rebel by Gaddafi forces, though the footage is disturbing it should hardly be surprising in such a conflict to see prisoners executed on both sides.

What is shocking however is that the brother is clearly killed after refusing to say “Long live Mu’ammar…long live al-Fatih” as demanded by the government soldiers, instead his last words are those of a martyr Inshallaah, saying “but he replied with ‘Allaahu akbar…la ilaha ilallaah!” Before he is shot, may Allaah (swt) grant him the death of martyr and the best form of Jihad is to speak the truth in the face of oppression and to be killed for it.

The brothers going fisabilillah (in the path of Allaah) are the ones on the front, so they are the ones influencing the other fighters, al Shabab (the youth) as they’ve become known and it is certain as this ugly stale mate continues the US and its European allies will do everything they can to isolate and drive off the Mujahideen and a few friendly fire incidents would do a lot to achieve this.

Influence sought and bought

Now NATO military planners have said greater cooperation is required to reduce future losses and William Hague, the British foreign secretary has said in Parliament that communications equipment is to be supplied as a matter of urgency, seeking to gain influence or even control over the free Libyan forces and their movements.

Giving a more conciliatory tone than the NATO head, William Hague called the bombings regrettable but refused to apologise and already talking heads in London, Washington and Paris are talking of arming the rebels… but only those they consider trustworthy, i.e. secularists and it is hard to imagine France and other Western powers arming Mujahideen whilst banning the veil at home and fighting in the mountains of Afghanistan.

Already the secular technocrats and former Gaddafi henchmen who make up the rebel council have returned from London after promising any future Libya will be secular, democratic and liberal but who gave them the right to make such promises on the behalf of the Muslims of Libya who are laying down their lives to remove one such tyrannical secular regime? Are they fighting just to have it replaced with another or is it more likely there will be a stronger voice emerging from the front lines of this war when the Mujahideen are triumphant Inshallaah?

Use them but don’t trust them

The Libyan brothers fighting against Gaddafi need to wary of the aims of the western powers, they are not their aims, they want a secular pro-western regime and we should not forget it is French tanks and guns that Gaddafi is using against his people, British soldiers which only a month ago were training Gaddafi’s forces in ‘counter-terrorism’ techniques to use against his own people and they only turned on him as he was seen as too unreliable and another viable pro-western secular option opened up.

So whilst it makes sense to use western dislike of Gaddafi and to advance under the western non fly zones, we should not forget they want a different outcome to the believers.

The Arab saying ’The enemy of my enemy is my friend,’ has never been less true than now, especially given these are the same militaries killing our Afghan brothers. The pilot dropping bombs on his former allies in the Gaddafi regime today probably last month or last year was dropping bombs on Afghan villagers and Taliban Mujahideen.

But if the secular kufr west wants to kill their former friend Gaddafi and his secular kufr regime for a time then let them get on with it but we can’t trust them, don’t help them but don’t hinder them either.

We need to never forget however they are the enemy of Islam and you can be sure that as soon as Gaddafi is gone they will turn on the Libyan people instead seeking to keep their friends, those they can bribe and scare into line in power over those who fought, bled, killed and have seen their comrades killed to get rid of Gaddafi so the slogan of la ilaha ilallaah could be supreme, not democracy or secularism.

Poster Comment:

ROFLMAO. NATO dropped bombs on the wrong side of Libya! OOOPS.

The obvious conclusion for the feeble minded is that only the USA is competent enough to handle this boondoggle. It's also foregone conclusion that this tangled mess requires boots on the ground.

Isn't it?
