"No names, just a K code, which is how the FBI designates 'knowns,' or specimens it knows the origins of," Shaler wrote. "Of course, we had no direct knowledge of how the FBI obtained the terrorists' DNA."

9/11 parts split by good and evil

BY PAUL D. COLFORD NY DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER

The city scientist who led the effort to identify 9/11 victims said officials made sure to keep the remains of the three terrorists identified away from those of the innocents killed.

The remains of the killers were removed from the medical examiner's makeshift memorial park on the East Side and "put in another place," Robert Shaler, former head of the medical examiner's forensic unit, told the Daily News.

In "Who They Were," his new inside account of the identification effort, Shaler writes that he believes the terrorists identified were in the back of the planes - and not the monsters who plowed the jets into the towers.

"I still doubt the pilots have anything remaining to collect or analyze," he writes. "Likely, they were vaporized along with many of the innocent victims."

Shaler recounts with fresh detail the scientific challenge and personal anguish that marked the more than three years it took to process the bodies and 20,000 body parts recovered from Ground Zero.

Though the remains of 1,594 of the 2,749 WTC victims have so far been identified by name, Shaler makes clear the terrorists were a case apart.

To begin with, Shaler's office could not identify the three by name. That's because the 10 DNA profiles used to make the first matches were supplied by the FBI without names attached.

"No names, just a K code, which is how the FBI designates 'knowns,' or specimens it knows the origins of," Shaler wrote. "Of course, we had no direct knowledge of how the FBI obtained the terrorists' DNA."

Terrorist remains were separated from the others, to allay families' concern that the killers might someday be commingled with the unidentified remnants of their victims, due to rest at the Trade Center site. Shaler said he didn't know where the terrorists' remains are now but assumed they are kept somewhere in the city.

"We didn't say where we put the terrorists' remains because it's not important," the medical examiner's spokeswoman, Ellen Borakove, said yesterday, adding she did not know the location herself.

If this is indeed true, it is highly suspect, leading some to believe that this information came from a military database. Keep in mind that according to NBC, over 25% of the hijackers trained at secure US military installations. If it is false, then whoever is lying has some explaining to do.

certainly bolsters the contention the pilots DID NOT train at civilian schools, were part of a military exchange training program with some of our putative allies, and depending on which rabbit hole you chase, were either in cahoots with a USG Northwoods type plot, or suckered the US Military and Security agencies by running a operation right under the noses of, and with possible, tho inadvertent assistance of the US security and military apparatus.

How do bodies survive that kind of fire? DNA doesn't break down in that kind of heat?

Who knows. This is either true or false, either way it is highly suspect.

It's very bizarre that the FBI would have DNA for these guys - the more info you find out, the worse this whole thing smells. Either we trained these guys and they turned on us (a common enough scenario) or they were working FOR us, or one of our multitudinous proxies. How else would the FBI have DNA for them?

Does anyone have any links to info released directly by a govt source indicating that some of the terrorists were living or being trained on US military establishments? Again, my question always remains - how do we break this thing wide open enough and on a high enough level so that the general public could become aware of these issues?

Madcowprod has articles IIRC from BostonGlobe, NBC etc about certain addresses being military base ones and used by the hijackers on licenses, visas etc.

It's been broken wide open; the bigmedia won't bother covering it.

You assume the general public gives a shit; they don't.

It's just us internet malcontents.

Wouldn't the DNA have to be planted, since there were no "terrorists" on any of the flights' manifests?

Also remember the passport that magically survived the heat which vaporized most everything else in the towers.

Fake Identities/papers would do. Manifests could be scrubbed after the fact.

But this is 8 blind men trying to decipher an elephant.

I guess, baseline here is that very few, or none buy the official line.

That may be the only commonality, since the nature of a coverup necessitates muddying the waters in addition to classifying relevant and pertinent info.

And then we go down our particular rabbithole.

Thanks Z. I am subscribed to the 9-11 ping list. If I put *9-11* in the "to:" form, will that ping the list?

It does make me wonder if DNA was collected by the 'Able Danger' project(s).

Yep. That would have been the time to clean hair brushes, or whatever other source of DNA they chose to collect.

Good thinking, there.
