I guess this is it. Didja notice that it seems that where the document appears to bend to accommodate the binding, the rule lines in the form bend but the paper patterning does not conform? Observe the left margin. I could be wrong. What do you think? Let the fun begin.
The pattern does not change because the pattern is on the printer paper currently used by the Dept of Health. Safety paper, with anti-alteration background pattern, was likely not used in 1961 for the original report. The original in the Dept of Health binder (which accounts for the bend at the right edge) was photographed and printed onto the green-pattern safety paper. Safety paper of some sort is now very popular with most states for birth certificate to disourage any sort of alterations. -

The one posted (by the White House) is a "copy" (See the date lower left hand side April 25, 2011). There are two photostats shown at WND of twins born the day after Obama is claiming as his birth date. http://www.wnd.com/?pageId=105347
Yes, I've seen a green b/c, also a sky-blue one and several daisy-yellow. I used to hold a job where I saw hundreds of birth certificates, from virtually every state and a few foreign countries to boot. The old documents were just photocopies using the sort of photographic or thermographic paper in use at the time. More recent copies were done with some attempt to discourage erasures and alterations. Some states made a point of using the sort of safety paper used for checks and passports, with a fine patterned background that would immediately call attention to any sort of erasure. Obama's b/c - both the short form and this long form - are printed on that kind of anti-alteration paper, the pattern is on the paper itself and the black & white image of the b/c was printed upon the patterned paper. This sort of paper is very common with b/c nowadays, an attempt to stay one step ahead of
