Any excuse for NBC to put David "The Monkey Boy" Gregory on the toob, I guess.

I think they just want to clean out the deep freezer in the WH basement so they can stock up on $1.29/lb hamburger that now costs $2.29 before it hits $5.29.

The Foggy Bottom area was the site of one of the earliest settlements in what is now the District of Columbia, when German settler Jacob Funck subdivided 130 acres (0.53 km2) near the meeting place of the Potomac River and Rock Creek in 1763. The settlement officially was named Hamburgh, but colloquially was called Funkstown, and attracted few settlers until the 1850s, when more industrial enterprises came into the area. [1]

The news being under-reported is that American ground troops were deployed deep into Pakistan -- meaning the War was expanded there. Was predictable from the get go after 9/11 that it would be, just a matter of how and when because Pakistan is the next hop for the pipeline out of Afghanistan to port.
