WASHINGTON (AP) -- A U.S. official says Osama bin Laden was shot above his left eye, blowing away part of his skull. The precision kill shot was delivered by a member of Navy's elite SEAL Team Six during a pre-dawn raid Monday on bin Laden's hideout in Pakistan. Photos of bin Laden's injuries were transmitted to Washington as proof that the mission was a success. The administration wasn't releasing the photos Monday. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to reporters.

So much for the "facial recognition" story. I'm convinced now that our country is being destroyed by a bunch of low- functioning retards.
Like I said here yesterday, and as is becoming ever more apparent, the story doesn't have to be GOOD, it only has to be GOOD ENOUGH. What they're handing out is some lame and sorry shit. It's on the order of what some lackadaisical student offers up for why he was late or didn't bring his homework. The instructor knows that he is being given a load of horsehockey, but he doesn't have the energy to enter into a dispute about it, a fact of which the student is well aware. Have a seat. We will continue to see the barely plausible and the unlikely presented to us whenever something goes boom. Don't get browned off that once again your intelligence is being insulted, because the stories that these lazy bastards concoct for public consumption are written to conform to WHAT PEOPLE WANT TO BELIEVE. Sometimes, as much as we'd like to indict the PTB for their criminal deceptions, we have got to blame the folks for their willful ignorance.

Facial recognition relies on precise measurement and projection into 3d space of the distance between the eyes, nose/mouth shape and placement, jawline proportion, etc. I see little reason to think that a forehead wound would inhibit the accuracy of facial recognition software.
When you concocting a cock and bull tale about how you off'd a guy that's been dead for ten years, you can say or show anything you want. You can bet your bippy, TC, that there won't be any photos of dead OBL's face that passes muster.

The problem is that the chain of custody of the body and evidence would never pass muster with a court. However, these facial metrics programs are quite good now. So you could gain a level of certainty close to a DNA match. In addition, OBL is one of maybe tens of thousands of Arab men worldwide who are over 6'4". It makes it all much harder to fake.
Certainly teeth and ears would be diagnostic. The are very hard things to fake convincingly. In addition, the graphics and/or video files will be gone over with a fine tooth comb. I'll be very surprised indeed to see convincing evidence that recent events in this case took place as they have been presented. I'm always open to evidence available to forensics and open discussion, but I know that just in my lifetime my government has a long and busy history of deception. I am a habitual skeptic.

It makes it all much harder to fake. Given 10 years, pretty much ANYONE could make a pretty decent dummy, and with enough money, could make it look as real as any person they wish. Now if they aren't even SHOWING the body or even HAVE the body, well just how do they expect anyone to really believe their far fetched story?
Why don't we wait for the pix, evaluate the witnesses and medical data? They'll release it. There's plenty of time to strap on the tin foil hat and head for the bunker.
