Bin Laden lived in Pakistan compound 5-6 years: U.S.

Soldiers keep guard around a compound within which al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden …

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Osama bin Laden lived for the past five to six years in the compound deep inside Pakistan where the al Qaeda leader was killed by U.S. forces, President Barack Obama's counterterrorism adviser said on Tuesday.

Bin Laden, who was living in Afghanistan before a 2001 U.S.-led invasion helped topple its Taliban regime, was holed up in a compound in the military garrison town of Abbottabad in Pakistan before Sunday's operation to kill him.

"Well I think the latest information is that he was in this compound for the past five or six years and he had virtually no interaction with others outside that compound. But yet he seemed to be very active inside the compound," White House counterterrorism chief John Brennan said on the CBS Early Show program.

"And we know that he had released videos and audios. We know that he was in contact with some senior al Qaeda officials," Brennan added.

"So what we're trying to do now is to understand what he has been involved in over the past several years, exploit whatever information we were able to get at the compound and take that information and continue our efforts to destroy al Qaeda," Brennan added.

The fact that the al Qaeda chief had lived in the compound for such a long time has prompted some U.S. lawmakers to demand a review of the billions of dollars in aid the United States provides Pakistan, which is fighting a Taliban insurgency.

Brennan also said the United States was considering whether to release photographs and video taken during the raid but has not yet made a decision.

"We want to make sure that we're able to do it in a thoughtful manner. We also want to anticipate what the reaction might be on the part of al Qaeda or others to the release of certain information so that we can take the appropriate steps beforehand," Brennan told CNN.

"Any other material, whether it be photos or videos or whatever else -- we are looking at it and we'll make the appropriate decisions," Brennan said.

Asked about any computers, documents and other material seized at the compound, Brennan said the material was being reviewed by U.S. authorities.

"What we're most interested in is seeing if we can get any insight into any terrorist plot that might be underway so that we can take the measures to stop any type of attack planning. Secondly, we're trying to look and see whether or not there are leads to other individuals within the organization or insights into their (al Qaeda) capabilities," Brennan said.

He said the United States was eager to learn from the material about the circumstances of bin Laden's residence in Abbottabad.

"I know the Pakistanis are interested in this -- how did bin Laden stay at that compound for the past six years or so and be undetected? What type of support did he have outside of that compound -- in the Abbottabad area or more broadly within Pakistan?" Brennan said. (1 image)

This shit is becoming more and more difficult to stomach.

PCR's factual, insightful article gave me some relief, however.

Especially given the fact that the town of Abbottabad is a military town with heightened security.

How did the king of the bad guys build himself a fortress right next to a military base and not raise any suspicion?

"The real deal is this: the ‘royalty’ controlling the court, the ones with the power, the ones with the ability to make a difference, with the ability to change our course, the ones who will live in infamy if we pass the tipping points, are the captains of industry, CEOs in fossil fuel companies such as EXXON/Mobil, automobile manufacturers, utilities, all of the leaders who have placed short-term profit above the fate of the planet and the well-being of our children." - James Hansen

The Pakistani govt is trying to pretend to have played a part in this raid, but the Pentagon has made it extremely clear that the Pakis (and other Muslims) were kept completely in the dark. It is painfully clear that Osama could not have set up this expensive and expansive compound in a pricey suburb only a ten minute walk from the Military College without at least some of the Paki Generals and Colonels at the college or in the suburb getting at least suspicious. The point is: Some very highly placed Pakis MUST have known, and yet none of them came forward to help nail him. Our brave Pakistani allies did all their fighting with one hand in our pocket and probably regular cellphone calls and emails to Osama's people to let them know where we were.

Very early on, within a few weeks of Sept. 11th, both the Indian and Israeli govts offered to send LOTS of highly motivated and experienced combat troops to help the US find and fight Osama, but Pakistan vetoed participation by either country, so we were deprived of the aid of very enthusiastic and trustworthy allies who already knew about fighting Arab guerrillas, and made to depend on the Pakistan army which seems to have been moonlighting for Al-Qaeda.

Now that Osama is dead, maybe we should consider encouraging regime change in Pakistan.

How wonderfully on message.

After all that is what all the propaganda is aiming at - to set up and justify yet another attack against a lot of innocent people to supposedly get one or two "bad guys".

Of course it is getting hard to tell between false flag terror and torture camps.

Why it is almost like the government is behaving like the bad guys.

Imagine that?

Remember The White Rose
"“Believe nothing merely because you have been told it. Do not believe what your teacher tells you merely out of respect for the teacher. But whatsoever, after due examination and analysis, you find to be kind, conducive to the good, the benefit, the welfare of all beings - that doctrine believe and cling to, and take it as your guide.” ~ Gautama Siddhartha — The Buddha

Dude, no one here is buying that he lived there at all, much less 5 or 6 years, so you can take your let's attack Pakistan propaganda elsewhere. But even if it were true that he lived there it still does not in anyway mean that he did 9/11 or had anything to do with it at all. That fact seems to escape your let's start a new war over this incident which has no real data to back it up at all. You are taking the word of the US government and its compliant military as gold when they have been proved in the past to lie outright about events.

God is always good!

They definitely are planning something against Pakistan or otherwise they would have "found and killed" Osama elsewhere, like Iran. :)

This madness will only end when the elite are overthrown. They are way too cocky and arrogant now to just step down shown by the fact they don't even try to make events look legit anymore to a critical eye. They may even want a revolution based on the "conspiracy" that they are controlling the USA and lying to us about most everything relating to 9.11 and the "wars on terror" that we are currently waging around the world. The camps do exist and they might welcome the opportunity of a revolution as a good excuse to use them to detain the "revolutionary nuts", as they would call them.

God is always good!
