Moscow Motorcyclist's Crazy High-Speed Commute

A 25-mile commute through Russian traffic and a powerful two-wheeled samurai sword, and you get a video showing the "quick" way to work. Sometimes this two-wheeler even becomes a one-wheeler as rare empty stretches of road disappear when the nose goes skyward.

Hang On !!

from a distance, I have a hard time telling what's a Harley and what isn't.

Me too, but when you pull up at a light you can hear the difference and they won't look you in the eye.

Yes, Mrs.L called me out of the dungeon to watch that flic.

Mine did the same...now, she really likes Jennifer Anniston...so I have to watch every chick flick she's in...see why the open road is so appealing?

but I'm still waiting to see a jap bike with 30,000 miles on it that's not ready for the scrap heap.

I've got 34k on my HD and the only thing I've needed was a stader. I'd jump on that bike tonight and ride to the Pacific ocean and back and never worry about a break down...that's a fact.

That's funny but true...I rode to Sturgis with a buddy that rides a big Yamaha...he was completely decked out in Harley garb. I ribbed him about it for 4,000 miles.

Exactly, try that that with jap crap and you'll be calling a cab.

christine's gorgeous home, but right now, it is 96 and feels like 99: too damned hot to do anything but crank down the AC,

Kinda early in the year for Austin, for that kind of heat.?

Spent one frikking hot week in LLano while ago - thought it was getting close to death temperatures.

My Yamaha buddy often refers to "moving up" to a Harley...He'll be the first to say he wants one. He rode mine one day and said the difference was unbelievable. I know I've put loads of miles on mine, had many 500 mile plus days and I've never thought, boy, I wish I had something else.

width of the tire is a good clue.

Honda riders don't have to have some designer name on their crap to prove they are cool.

width of the tire is a good clue.

maybe, but my FXSTC has a wide 200 back tire and a skinny 21 inch front tire so tire width isn't such a great guide anymore. The bike in the 2nd video is really nice.

I'll probably have pictures of this weeks ride to post later.

Saw the new Star the other day. Boys in the car were looking at it wondering what it was and who makes it. I laughed. I actually knew that it was the new Star by Yamaha.

Just ask how many 1940 thru 1980 Hondas are still on the road today. :)

Just stand at any intersection in the summer for a half hour and you are sure to see several HDs from way back when.

Mine's coming up on 40 years old, and it's getting refreshed again so it can keep putting along for another 10 or 12 years. Got all the sheet metal off it tonight and sanded off the old paint. Tomorrow the heads and jugs come off for a fresh top end. Next weekend the paint should be done, in two weeks she'll be good as new, once again. :)
