A 25-mile commute through Russian traffic and a powerful two-wheeled samurai sword, and you get a video showing the "quick" way to work. Sometimes this two-wheeler even becomes a one-wheeler as rare empty stretches of road disappear when the nose goes skyward. Hang On !! I ride motorcycles, am a member of the Iron Butt Association (over 1,000 miles in 24 hours) and have cruised for hours at 85-95 on the open, almost vacant, roads of the mid-west. This guy is not long for the world...it's seldom what YOU do that gets you killed...it's almost always something the other driver does that "gets you"...talking on cell phones, fiddeling with the radio, putting on make-up, reading a map...the list goes on and on....ALL these guys die eventually. you tube "ghost rider" if you want to see some 150-190 mph traffic dodging...and yep, I heard he's no longer with us. NOTHING comes close to the feeling of the open road on two wheels...I just like to keep it under 3 digits...but that's just me...I guess I really am getting old.
Yeah. I was watching that video and thinking to myself that all he needed was just one of the people driving a car or truck to lose their concentration for just a few seconds and drift over a foot or two--and then he's a dead man. It's stupid to ride that way in traffic.
I went through Atlanta 2 years ago and all I could think was "what the crap am I doing here!!! Traffic sucks and high speed traffic can be deadly...I just assume they're all out to kill you and drive accordingly.
I sold real estate in Atlanta for 19 years...I'm familiar with each and every one of the exits...it made me want to stop by the Varsity for a "dog". Is that you on that V-Max...if it is, slow that rascal down before you get yourself hurt/dead. Thanks for the video...that's my old stomping grounds!

they don't call them "crotch rockets" for nothing. I swear some of those things have afterburners...I was doing 90 mph on I-90 in S. Dakota and I had 2 riders pass me like I was in reverse...they must have been doing 135-150...It was NUTS... I only THOUGHT I was rolling along..,
We have had our bikes up to 135 on Hwy 70 with two riders. First time was on the '83 Suzuki 750. Second was with the Honda posted above and I'm not a small woman any more. I've found some good pics but have to transfer them from one computer to the other.

Carburetor? They phased those out in 06. I know that because I bought an 06 because I wanted one. They're less picky on fuel. That said, who cares if the bike has some foreign parts. I'm sure the Honda does to. The bottom line: HD is an American legend, they sound different, they ride different, they're built different, they last longer,they're the best, and the choice of the best. The rice grinder crowd is always making excuses why they bough some piece of jap crap. You saved some money? Good, spend it on leathers and tattoos so you can look like a Hog rider but remember: We're all laughing at you.
Just ask how many 1940 thru 1980 Hondas are still on the road today. :) Just stand at any intersection in the summer for a half hour and you are sure to see several HDs from way back when.
And the older they are, the more attention they get...I know folks that WANT the older Harleys.
Mine's coming up on 40 years old, and it's getting refreshed again so it can keep putting along for another 10 or 12 years. Got all the sheet metal off it tonight and sanded off the old paint. Tomorrow the heads and jugs come off for a fresh top end. Next weekend the paint should be done, in two weeks she'll be good as new, once again. :)
Perfect time to get it on the road...the weather is GREAT! Post some pics when it's done...let's SEE that classic!
