A 25-mile commute through Russian traffic and a powerful two-wheeled samurai sword, and you get a video showing the "quick" way to work. Sometimes this two-wheeler even becomes a one-wheeler as rare empty stretches of road disappear when the nose goes skyward. Hang On !! I sold real estate in Atlanta for 19 years...I'm familiar with each and every one of the exits...it made me want to stop by the Varsity for a "dog". Is that you on that V-Max...if it is, slow that rascal down before you get yourself hurt/dead. Thanks for the video...that's my old stomping grounds!
Can't really tell... North on the 75-85 interchange...Spring street is south of Howell Mill so he must be rolling north...that's my guess.
Thanks. Going from Hartsfield to Roswell is all the ATL driving I've ever done, and it was in DeVille rentals, not bikes. Thank God. 400 has no speed limit that I could tell. No cops either, unless there was a wreck.

Flint...if I'm doing any distance....anything over 300-400 miles...I ALWAYS use an Airhawk seat cushion on the seat. These things are UNBELIEVABLE...it makes all the difference in the world. I spent 18 hours in the saddle the day I did the 1,000 miles...it really wasn't all that bad, but you have to be where you can average about 70 mph because you have to stop every 150 miles or so for a stretch and gas. I did it in Oct last year...if I had it to do over I would have waited for warmer nights and longer days...say like July through September. Go luck on your trip and watch out for the "cagers" they're ALL out to "get you".
It's interesting you say that, as that was my impression the first time viewing it. Thanks to the pause button, we can see his route is more like this: He starts out on Moreland Ave and I-20, East of downtown. The first set of traffic signs are for Capital Ave., Turner Field, 75/85 North & South. He runs up the connector and then onto 75N. You must be sort of local, I'm out west of town, south of Carrollton.

Speed limits...in Atlanta?? LOL. I always told my friends, if they ever got a speeding ticket in Atlanta, they WORKED to get it. 19 years and NEVER a speeding ticket. Anyone doing under 75 on 285 is very likly to get rear ended or cause a serious wreck...craziest place I've ever driven...Miami may be the 2nd.
they don't call them "crotch rockets" for nothing. I swear some of those things have afterburners...I was doing 90 mph on I-90 in S. Dakota and I had 2 riders pass me like I was in reverse...they must have been doing 135-150...It was NUTS... I only THOUGHT I was rolling along..,

You mean the Blue Ridge bumps? We go from 32' here in the valley to 11,000'. The pass we go over to Reno is over 7,000'. I'm going to try and get some better background pictures to show you.

We have had our bikes up to 135 on Hwy 70 with two riders. First time was on the '83 Suzuki 750. Second was with the Honda posted above and I'm not a small woman any more. I've found some good pics but have to transfer them from one computer to the other.

Compared to what you have...you're right...we have bumps! 5,000 is TALL around here...Mt Rogers in 5,700 and is the tallest mountain in VA. The Mountains out west are truly magnificent...and make for some great 2 wheel get aways. The mountains in the east are breathtaking in the spring and fall...a mosaic of pastels in Autumn...no place like it.
the cell phone worry me as much as anything...I see to many people trying to text and drive at the same time...believe me, I give those folks a wide birth. And you'll LOVE the Airhawk.

GREAT pics FF. It makes me want to do another "go round" through the mid west. I really want to run the old route 66 and see the Grand Canyon... sleeping under the stars at night, it just doesn't get any better :?)

Not bad at all...check out e-bay. They're getting really popular, I saw a guy riding one yesterday and have a friend that's buying one in the next couple months. Depending on the model and year you should be able to find one anywhere from 10k to 25k
Considering the general worthlessness of our fiat $$$, that's not too awful.

The Can Am's are a great way to go...I see them more and more at the rallies and on the road. They have a wonderful touring model for folks that like to travel and have qyros in them that make it almost impossible to turn over. The open road waits for you my friend...

I think it would be SERIOUSLY neat if a bunch of the "crazy" folks on this forum could plan a little "get together". I mean, how fun would THAT BE! Hey, we could EVEN invite some of the feds that monitor this site...you know...so we could get to know them and they could get to know us!
test ride one first...but from people that own them, once you try it out...be prepared to drive it home!
I stupidly clicked on the link and saw it - what a beauty, with a semi-auto tranny, and only 3 miles. Late last year we were discussing getting together at christine's gorgeous home, but right now, it is 96 and feels like 99: too damned hot to do anything but crank down the AC, and find a cool one.

that's ONE of the reasons I don't miss Atlanta...the heat was awful and the humidity worse. Those kind of tempertures suck it out of me too. And yes, the Can Ams are beautiful machines...
