You hog riders think very highly of yourselves don't you. Just about every person I see riding a Japanese cruiser ride them for several reasons, none of which includes being gay or "metro-sexual". The reasons are; A lot of Harley riders are pretty decent folks too, although there are some stuck up snobs who think just because they ride a Harley, they're super cool. Such people apparently have a self esteem issue, and need a big expensive bike to boost their egos and feel important. That, and they think it helps them score with chicks.

lurker...I joke with folks all the time, but the fact is, I have friends that ride Honda's, Yamaha's, Kawasaki's and I have a friend that just bought a Can AM Spyder that I rode the other day and it was a hoot...it's all good. I happen to like Harley's, but anything that gets you out of a "cage" and lets you smell the air and feel the wind works for me. But seriously...Harley's ARE a chick magnet...everyone that rides one finds that out real quick...LOL

don't put any money on that bet...mine pulls like a freight train at 110 and has loads of speed left in it...that six speed lets you cruise all day at 100 plus...I personally don't like crusing at much over 80...but out West, we'd cruise between 85-95 for miles.

I hear ya...they had the Myrtle Beach bike rally last month and it went off without a hitch...after that was black biker week and apparently they literally tore the town up...shootings, looting, stabbings, stealing...crazy stuff. One news paper article I read had the headline as "8 Hours of Hell". From the article it looks like things were pretty much out of control for a while...I'll bet that's the end of bike week at Myrtle Beach...we'll see.

Most people I know who've owned Harley's are constantly fixing them, and spend as much money in "upgrading" the bike to make it work the way it's supposed to work as they spent buying it new. Not only that, but from what I've read, Harley Davidson service sucks ass where they usually fuck up the bike worse than it was when it came to the shop, charge an arm and a leg, and take months to perform a two hour fix. And like I said, it's pretty obvious that there are some who buy Harleys because they need it to feel like a "big man".

After a little reading, just about EVERY HD part is made in CHINA since 2005. They are only assembled in the US, everything else is made in China or Mexico. On the other hand, the Honda VTX is made in Ohio from 100% US MADE parts.

More bullshit.....I think I hit a nerve.....LOL Even More BS. I've had no problems with my local dealer. However in the past, I was usually ripped off by my local grinder dealer, plus the bike was a pos and I only got about 20k out of it.

I've had no problems with mine. I did have to buy a new tire, a new battery and do the 5,000 mile servicing when I bought it. It was all figured into my buying price and except for the battery, had it done by a HD dealer. (I did buy a HD AGM battery). I could have saved some money by having the work done by one of the numerous non HD shops that specialize in "American Motorcycles" Next time I will.

Maybe not EVERY part, but OVER 50% comes from China and elsewhere. Did you know your shocks are made by Honda? Look up "Harley Davidson parts made in China", it'll make your "it's made in the USA" bubble burst. You're lucky. I've seen MANY MANY postings of people who've told some real horror stories about Harley dealerships who have had issues doing things as simple as factory upgrades to as painful as trying to fix lemons that have never ran right.
I've had no problems with my local dealer.
