A 25-mile commute through Russian traffic and a powerful two-wheeled samurai sword, and you get a video showing the "quick" way to work. Sometimes this two-wheeler even becomes a one-wheeler as rare empty stretches of road disappear when the nose goes skyward.
Dang James...sometimes I'm really not sure it IS being paranoid...I'm often completely convinced they're out to get me... LOL!!!
I was always convinced they were out to get me too. Could be one thing that kept me alive for this long.

I used to have a chopper with the long rake and king/queen seat
I did too but it wasn't a Harley. Got my Harley after that. But my chopper was something to behold and beat you to death. But pretty doesn't describe it, it was beautiful. It had a 16 over, twisted springer front end, 10 degree rake (iirc), Amen rigid frame, king and queen seat, Maltese cross mirrors and brake light and one in the sissy bar and a custom paint job. Only thing left stock on that bike was the toolbox and I had it chromed.

That sounds GORGEOUS. I had mine in HS...got it when I was 17. It was a Harley 1973 1000 sportster with a raked out front and high king/queen seat and three FABULOUS murals painted on the tank...man, I wish I'd saved that bike!! It was when AMF owned Harley and that bike would vibrate the fillings out of your teeth and it ALWAYS dripped oil. It was a bear to do long distance...but I was young and it didn't matter...all I wanted to do was ride. I remember a TV show called "Then came Bronson"...I always wanted to take a year or so off and do nothing but travel the country...almost did right after HS...almost!
I remember that Then Came Bronson show too. And thanks for the compliment--I wish I had a picture of it on imageshack but I don't even have one here in the drawer anymore.

We've Got Tonight...1978...I was 20 years old and just moved to Atlanta GA...what a time and what a place. Wild as a buck and crazy in love...yep, those were GREAT days. Some things don't change :?)
Yea...I wish I had been better about taking pictures back then also. Now I'm curious...what was yours... a Triumph? The Bonnevilles were really getting popular back then?
4um has good folks and good stuff all over the board.
Have fun, get informed, it's all here for us.
no doubt...I've been a luker for a very long time...post every now and then...but always check in the see what's happening...been reading your stuff for quite a while. :?)

No, that one was a Honda. Never had a Triumph but a guy I used to ride with had one. I have owned three motorcycles. The Honda, the Harley Electra Glide and a Kawasaki 550. I loved all of 'em.

you know Lod...I say it all the time...we're only here for a blink...looking back, we can see how fast we get here. Amazing really, I'm 53 and, praise GOD, in great health and doing good with lots of miles yet to go, GOD willing, and we don't end up in a crazy civil war with these nuts in DC. But what a GREAT ride it's been so far...man, what A Ride!
Remember when the Honda came out with the 750 four cylinder...that was considered a HUGE bike. I have a friend that rides an old 47 Indian. Those old bikes are GREAT...I don't know if you do any of the rallies, but you get to see some really beautiful vintage bikes. Anything on 2 wheels is great. Hey, who knows, I may end up with a Gold Wing also...my wife wants something more "comfortable",... go figure! :?)
Nice bike critter...makes me wish I had saved my '73...something cool about those older bikes.
Life is not a journey to the grave With the intention of Arriving safely in a pretty And well preserved body, But rather to skid in broadside, Thoroughly used up, Totally worn out, And loudly proclaiming,
makes me wish I had saved my '73...something cool about those older bikes.
Thanks. My daughter is going to inherit this one.
I was at the HD dealer the other day, looking at new Road Kings, but you know what, that just isn't me. I like my old clunker. I like breaking down where ever I go, and having to mend things on the the side of the road, with rudimentary hand tools, good old fashioned yankee ingenuity, and a roll of baling wire. :)
I have a 27 yo son that will most likely end up with mine. I'd love to do a road trip with him...but he LOVES speed, and that can get you killed on a bike. So, call me a hypocrite, I hope he waits till he gets this "speed" thing out of his system before he gets his own. Critter, I got to tell ya...it's about that breaking down thing...everybody as something that floats their boat, but I HATE breaking down...and have been in the "great middle of nowhere", many times, where it would have sucked large! These newer bikes are really a completely different animal than the older bikes...VERY reliable and should go 100-150k miles with care. I know my limitations...I'm not a good mechanic...but I'd sure like you along on the next trip, because it sounds like you are! So, consider yourself officially invited!
We get together with a group from an M-109 forum. We are meeting in Pismo Beach this week. Will be about 30 bikes and about 40 people. Last year a bunch came over from Australia, some from Canada, and they all got together down in Los Vegas. Hotel set parking aside for the bikes on the 5th floor of the parking garage. Do you know what happens to car alarms when 30 bikes go by? They should have put them on the ground floor.
We also go up to Reno from Street Vibrations. Nice ride over the hill.
Here is our friend's M-109.
Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.
The car alarm thing can be funny...been there, done that. The m109 is a nice bike...I like the looks of yours better though...it looks sleeker to my eyes. Beautiful scenery in the background...where is this? Laconia bike rally is coming up next month and if I can sneak away from work I want to ride up through New Hampshire and Maine and see the sights...
am a member of the Iron Butt Association (over 1,000 miles in 24 hours)
I salute you.
Personally, I was prone to monkey butt on my Duel-Sport, but I've never ridden my Hog any distance. I just moved and haven't moved my bike yet, so I'll be riding about 225 miles (after diving the same distance) to get it. The saddle on my HD is a lot more comfortable than the narrow, thin one on the Duel, so wish me luck.
I'll be keeping the speedo in the 2 digit range too.

I sold real estate in Atlanta for 19 years...I'm familiar with each and every one of the exits...it made me want to stop by the Varsity for a "dog". Is that you on that V-Max...if it is, slow that rascal down before you get yourself hurt/dead. Thanks for the video...that's my old stomping grounds!
