the American public doesn't care.

They will when it affects them. The economic conditions in the USA now are starting to be felt by all to some degree. Not enough pain yet for the majority to care, but they will soon. But they won't care about Iraq, Afghanistan, or Libya, they will only care about their own ass. Like the guy in the video said, they are just covering their ass with these drop weapons. Their ass is what most Americans care about, their ass, not someone else's ass!
