Japan dumps 3 million gallons of radioactive water into sea

Workers pumped more than 3 million gallons of contaminated water from Japan’s nuclear-power complex into the Pacific Ocean to free storage space for even more highly radioactive water.

TOKYO — Workers pumped more than 3 million gallons of contaminated water from Japan’s tsunami-ravaged nuclear-power complex into the Pacific Ocean on Tuesday, to free storage space for even more highly radioactive water that has hampered efforts to stabilize the plant’s reactors.

Only three weeks ago, or so, I suggested dumping a bazillion cubic yards of cement on that hell-hole, but did anyone listen?

Noooooooo they didn't.

But what will eventually happen?

You guessed it!

That's practically what I was told by a Japanese businessman yesterday.

He said somewhat hysterically that everything was fine in his country, and that we should ignore all the scary reports. "Every thing in my country is fine. Don't worry!"

I didn't have the heart to press him about the meltdown reported in reactors 1-3. I think he might have had bad meltdown himself right then and there.

Yeah, it sucks for me.

But what about the reality of what's going on?

When will the nips snap to, as what's to be done?

They can't jerk around with this tent thing...Dear God.

From what I've read, the gulf current has kept most of our waters BP free.

It is easy to blame the Japanese for this but if we had the same situation we would probably do the same. Nuclear power should not be used in areas such as Japan that experience frequent earthquakes. Hopefully the amount of radiation is small enough to not hurt sea life. Obviously within a certain perimeter of the dump no fishing should be allowed until the radiation levels have dispersed enough.

God is always good!

Nor do we.

A few years back,I was living in Charleston SC.I was watching the evening news and the anchor was talking about a fire on a small 18' open fisherman. It seems a fisherman got out of his boat in the flats and took his shrimp net out to troll up dinner and bait. The shrimp he caught,he threw into his cooler and went back out to do more fishing,he smelled the fire coming from his cooler which ignited his gas can, ingulfing the stern in flames. Before he jumped he looked back at the cooler and thats when he realized the shrimp had ignited, the shrimp he caught were full of phosphorus.I love the ocean,I've seen alot on the open waters, but nothing that mother nature can create compares to the damage that man can do.
