Speaking one day after Israeli troops killed at least 20 civilian protesters in cross border attacks, White House spokesman Jay Carney praised Israel for its “restraint” and said that the Netanyahu government had every right to kill those people “to prevent unauthorized crossing at its borders.”

The protesters were commemorating the “Nakba” or “catastrophe,” which refers to the mass expulsion of Palestinians from their homes at the founding of the Israeli state. The commemoration is explicitly banned within Israel since 2009.

Late Sunday night Israeli media reports emerged showing that the Foreign Ministry had dispatched an official memorandum on the killings, which ordered Israeli diplomats to blame Syria for all the deaths, including apparently the 10 people killed inside Lebanon by Israeli troops.

Israel's authorized borders are the U.N. Partition lines.

Still waiting to hear what the White House spokesman has to say similarly about the massive, unauthorized crossings into America by illegal Mexican migrants along our Southern border.

Well I guess Obama just said it's ok for Americans to kill any Mexicans crossing the southern border illegally.

"The real deal is this: the ‘royalty’ controlling the court, the ones with the power, the ones with the ability to make a difference, with the ability to change our course, the ones who will live in infamy if we pass the tipping points, are the captains of industry, CEOs in fossil fuel companies such as EXXON/Mobil, automobile manufacturers, utilities, all of the leaders who have placed short-term profit above the fate of the planet and the well-being of our children." - James Hansen

“to prevent unauthorized crossing at its borders.”

Using the same logic they could just nuke the rest of the world to prevent unauthorized crossing of their borders. This was a massacre and for the White House to "praise" this murderous act by a nation that has more spies in America than any other foreign nation is so ridiculous it borders on insanity.

Even the Onion.com couldn't make a news story like this up, it is totally unbelievable.

Sounds like it or maybe he's planning to deploy armed Military personnel there to guard us by Israel's example.

No, he went further than that, he says you can kill them before they cross the border to prevent them from ever crossing.

This is a quote from a Haaretz article (Israel news source) linked at the Antiwar.com report:

U.S. accuses Syria of inciting Israel border clashes

White House spokesman Jay Carney expressed regret for the loss of life in confrontations on Israel's frontiers with Syria, Lebanon and Gaza on Sunday but said Israel "has the right to prevent unauthorized crossing at its borders."

That is what it sounds like -- a condonance of pre-emptive killing to prevent them from crossing.

File this under:

OBAMA SUPPORTS PROTESTORS IN TUNISIA, EGYPT, LYBIA, SYRIA ETC. IN THEIR FIGHT FOR FREEDOM OF SPEECH, AND DEMOCRACY.

I hope someone has been recording Obama's speeches on behalf of the liberties, and freedom from tyranny, that other countries, except America, are now empowered and encouraged to reach for. No matter how phony these revolutions are, no matter that they are not populist uprisings, Obama's speeches have been so inspiring, that I almost imagined that he was encouraging the American people to rise up and fight for their own liberties.

Could Jay Carney be sending a similar message, on behalf of Obama, to the American people, that it is time to get really tough on unauthorized crossing at our borders. Obama could scarcely come right out and say this himself. IS HE SENDING US MESSAGES FOR HELP?

"Beware, Algerians," maybe. This is unconfirmed but should be fact-checked, as Israel tends to think it moves wherever its people and investments do:

An Israeli military base in Libya near the border with Algeria

According to a document written in Hebrew, an agreement has been signed between Israel and the National Transitional Council (CNT) in Benghazi, Libya, concerning the creation of a Zionist military base in the Jebel Akhdar region, for a period of thirty years in case they come to power

The document contains the word "Israel Defence Forces, received by a Ukrainian officer, and reveals the contents of the agreement signed between Israel and the National Transition Council of Libya in Benghazi, which consists of creating a military base on the Libyan border, while Israel supported the Libyan opposition by providing weapons, making pressure on European countries to recognize the CNT and training the members of the opposition in order to prepare a strong army.

The intensification of NATO air strikes against the pro-Gaddafi forces to force him to withdraw is part of the strategy.

The document in question has raised many doubts, according to observers, as it is written from left to right. No reaction from the Libyan opposition in Benghazi to confirm or deny these reports.

The pro-Kadhadi distributed the document in order to convince and to mount the general opinion in neighbouring countries against the opposition.

In case the information is confirmed, Algeria would be most affected by the presence of Zionists on the borders with Libya [end excerpt]

So I guess that's what a person would need to tell the cops if they ask why they'd be carrying some serious firepower and not far away, there's a bunch of dead folk on the south side of the border, eh?

A cross border shooting falls under which nation's jurisdiction? The policeman has no right to cross the border to investigate a murder in a foreign nation. I am not advocating killing illegals or Mexicans here, just highlighting some of the problems with cross border shootings and local law enforcement having no jurisdiction over it.

A cross border shooting can be seen as an act of war if it is the military doing it as was the case with the IDF shooting civilians in Lebanon. Lebanon has every right to retaliate for this massacre of its citizens.

I'm just saying, if we are to follow the White House guidelines, we can shoot people across the border with impunity if we think they MIGHT try to cross the border. I mean, if it's ok for Israel to do it, it must be ok for us too, right?

I concur. Thing is, with Obama indicating he fully supports that act of war, Lebanon is being told they could expect US military intervention if they so much as cry over the deaths of their people at the hands of our super-duper ally, Israel.
