believe that if we prayerfully study the Bible, any Bible, the Holy Spirit will reveal to us what is necessary and needed for us that day.

I dont think any bible will do. Perhaps more then the king james version has truth in it. For an extreme example......I dont think the satanic bible would work.

Unfortunately I have to agree with you - we just won't mind our own damn business. Partly it's greed, and partly naivete, and partly that very human desire to control the world for the"good of others' that crops up every now and then in powerful people and nations. The hardest thing seems to be to just let people develop at their own pace, if they will at all, as long as they don't attack us.

I have dreams of things I'd like to see us do in this country, and one of those dreams is to have the President - no, not this buffoon pretending to be POTUS, but a REAL President - initiate a program or contest to find and develop new sources of energy - an initiative the way the space program was in the 50s and 60s. But our system is so tied into oil that we can't even save ourselves for greed and short sightedness.

Of course the whole thing in Iraq is obscene. What can I say? The sight of children with their limbs blown off, well, it brings tears to my eyes and there is NO justification for it. None. Michael Savage is crazy, frankly. He says some things that I agree with, but he just goes too far, and I think he thinks he's some kind of biblical prophet. He's gone over the edge. I'm surprised the Islamics haven't declared a Jihad on him. For all I dislike the Islamics, and to be honest - I do for a number of reasons, including their treatment of women, I have to say that we don't comment on the violence that they DON'T instigate for such a large group of people. Yes, there are crazies - lone crazies, and crazies in groups, but how could it be otherwise, with such a large number of people? But Savage is still walking around spewing his venom, and non of the neo-cons have been killed, and as far as I know there have been no serious attempts on POTUS and nothing's been blown up over here. I don't know if the violence I've seen directed against the trains of Europe is much more than something the old Bader Meinhof gang or some of the commies of old Europe would have done.

The United Nations screwd up in 1947/48 when they established Israel. While I definitely sympathize with any group of people who have been the object of genocide, such as the Jews, or Armenians, etc, to establish a country out of guilt, while there are millions of people already living there, just doesn't seem like a good idea to me. It's not practical, it never was. I don't know what the solution to European Jewry was as I understand they would be reluctant to return to lands where they were under such massive attack during the war, but on the other hand, just sticking them in Palestine and calling it Israel doesn't seem to be a great idea either. Zionism seems to be a short lived proposition to me as how can the Israelis maintain their country in the midst of such massive hostility and growing numbers of enemies? I've always said - you can't fight demographics. Maybe we should have sent them to Borneo.

Without some level of certification how are we going to know if someone is minimally qualified to perform various functions - such as driving, or brain surgery? I know that the certification doesn't guarantee GOOD driving or successful brain surgery or whatever, but hopefully it confers a minimum standard.

He gave a particular piece of land to the jews. Its in the Bible. Do you not believe the Bible? He gave the gentiles all the rest of the earth to live on. Not to mention his grace. So your already part of the program.

Who is Israel?

The Mystery of the Gentiles

The Apostle Paul identifed the Corinthians to whom he wrote his first epistle as descendants of the Israelites who departed Egypt and traversed the wilderness with Moses: “Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that ALL OUR FATHERS WERE UNDER THE CLOUD, AND ALL PASSED THROUGH THE SEA....” 1 Corinthians 10:1

Paul identifed these same Corinthians as gentiles: “Ye know that YE WERE GENTILES, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.” 1 Corinthians 12:2

Was Paul confused, double minded – or did he know something that most Christians today do not know?

The Mystery of the Gentiles challenges conventional thinking concerning the identity of the principal players in the Bible and the nations in the world today. Those who are unafraid to go wherever biblical truth may lead them are in for an eye-opening adventure.

In Acts 26 the Apostle Paul asked King Agrippa, “Believest thou the prophets?” In The Mystery of the Gentiles, the same question will be asked of you – and if your answer is yes, you will embark upon an exciting journey toward the undeniable conclusion to a mystery that could forever impact your life.

Also, Christian Duty Under Corrupt Government

Theological error always comes before political error. Most, if not all, of our nation's political error is a result of theological error taught in our pulpits. The creator's order of creation put mankind second in command. Governments are a latter creation and are either righteous or evil, depending upon the spiritual condition of the creators. Political correctness is dependent on theological correctness. Theological and political error has put our nation at great risk. Christian Duty Under Corrupt Government is timely since we still have an opportunity to influence the future. Our nation's founders taught a more correct theology than we hear today. My hope and prayer is that this book will be read by many of our countrymen.

And just who are the descendants of whom the passagee speaks? And wasn't the gift, in fact, given in the book of Joshua?

(And, by the way, I think it's "Hittites," not "Chitties" -- although they might, in fact, get a little chitty every now and then.)

Before answering, you might want to consider Matthew 3:9, which says (John the Baptist speaking):

... and do not suppose that you can say to yourselves, "We have Abraham for our father;" for I say to you, that God is able from these stones to raise up children to Abraham.

You might also want to consider Romans 10 and 11 -- the whole chapters.

Read for yourself what the survivors have to say. http://ussliberty.org/

And if you've a mind to do your due diligence in this you will also find where one of the Israeli pilots broke off the attack when he realized the ship was American, and was court martialed for it later by the IDF. This pilot has recently visited the U.S. and apologized personally to the survivors.

His story alone is proof that the attack was a premeditated war crime on a ship of the United States Navy in international waters.

We should have bombed the hell out of them back then and the world would be better off today. The ONLY reason it was NOT done was because of TREASON at the highest levels. Even jets launched twice by the USS Saratoga were recalled both times, once on the direct orders of LBJ.

I don't believe that the bible is the infallible word of God. I believe now that dubious men with political and selfish agendas commissioned the various works in order to control the little people.

I have to admit I've been feeling the same way about the Bible lately.

I believe all religions are man's feeble attempts to understand God, there's probably varying amounts of truth to all of them. I do believe in God but I believe God is something beyond our comprehension while our souls reside in our earthly bodies. I believe after we die our souls go on to another dimension.

Not so much issues, but political philosophies. I have been a registered Republican for 23 years. Before that, I was a Young Republican for three. In June of this year I changed my party affiliation to Independent because I felt my party left me. They are no longer the party of smaller, less intrusive government, but the party of drunken, irresponsible spending. My views have not changed one iota, the parties has.

After having done a bit of reflecting on the history of the party, I don't think it's changed. I think the GOP has always been about conserving their own wealth and power. I think what's changed is that they now have an administration who openly flaunts it and our eyes have been opened to it.

Now, is there anything that you have learned about an issue that you previously had a very strong opinion about that has influenced you to change your mind?

About the land........God said He owned all the land and that he was giving this area to the Israelites. But it didn't and doesn't stop there.....there was a wee little word attached to the POSSESSION of the land.

That little word was IF. After the IF word, there were several others that suggested the Israelites had to conform to his commandments, statutes, and laws.

For modern day christians to think they can help God shows their ignorance. He doesn't need anyones help....especially a bunch of busybodies who need to be looking in their own yardhearts and minds and definitely spending more time in the book actually discerning and learning what it says.
