They really should rename the show "America Today", cause I see nothing about Russia in it at all. In Romans 13 Paul said "rulers are not a terror to good works", and most preachers today still say he was talking about civil governments here. Well, quite frankly they are so wrong about that, that I question their sincerity. I think many of them are saying so because they are part of the "clergy response team" the government has set up for preachers. That's right, preachers are on the government payroll to teach you Romans 13 says to obey the government. In reality it says nothing of the sort. The government Paul is talking about is not in a plural form, it is singular. There are many governments on Earth so it can't be talking about them, it is talking about God's government he has set up within the church. First century Christians did not participate in any wars, they only obeyed laws that did not go against God's law, and they most certainly identified themselves first and foremost as a Christian, and not a citizen of a earthly government. They were routinely tortured and imprisoned by earthly governments for their non-compliance with man-made laws that were contrary to God's laws. They were executed by fire and by feeding them to lions as sport in Rome. There is no way any thinking person could then say Paul was talking about submitting to the Roman government without being considered a nut or a deliberate liar.
