FDA finally admits chicken meat contains cancer-causing arsenic (but keep eating it, yo!)

After years of sweeping the issue under the rug and hoping no one would notice, the FDA has now finally admitted that chicken meat sold in the USA contains arsenic, a cancer-causing toxic chemical that's fatal in high doses. But the real story is where this arsenic comes from: It's added to the chicken feed on purpose!

Even worse, the FDA says its own research shows that the arsenic added to the chicken feed ends up in the chicken meat where it is consumed by humans. So for the last sixty years, American consumers who eat conventional chicken have been swallowing arsenic, a known cancer-causing chemical. (http://www.phillyburbs.com/news/loc...)

Until this new study, both the poultry industry and the FDA denied that arsenic fed to chickens ended up in their meat. The fairytale excuse story we've all been fed for sixty years is that "the arsenic is excreted in the chicken feces." There's no scientific basis for making such a claim... it's just what the poultry industry wanted everybody to believe.

But now the evidence is so undeniable that the manufacturer of the chicken feed product known as Roxarsone has decided to pull the product off the shelves (http://www.grist.org/food-safety/20...). And what's the name of this manufacturer that has been putting arsenic in the chicken feed for all these years? Pfizer, of course -- the very same company that makes vaccines containing chemical adjuvants that are injected into children.

Technically, the company making the Roxarsone chicken feed is a subsidiary of Pfizer, called Alpharma LLC. Even though Alpharma now has agreed to pull this toxic feed chemical off the shelves in the United States, it says it won't necessarily remove it from feed products in other countries unless it is forced by regulators to do so. As reported by AP:

"Scott Brown of Pfizer Animal Health's Veterinary Medicine Research and Development division said the company also sells the ingredient in about a dozen other countries. He said Pfizer is reaching out to regulatory authorities in those countries and will decide whether to sell it on an individual basis." (http://www.usatoday.com/money/indus...)

Arsenic? Eat more!

But even as its arsenic-containing product is pulled off the shelves, the FDA continues its campaign of denial, claiming arsenic in chickens is at such a low level that it's still safe to eat. This is even as the FDA says arsenic is a carcinogen, meaning it increases the risk of cancer.

The National Chicken Council agrees with the FDA. In a statement issued in response to the news that Roxarsone would be pulled from feed store shelves, it stated, "Chicken is safe to eat" even while admitting arsenic was used in many flocks grown and sold as chicken meat in the United States.

What's astonishing about all this is that the FDA tells consumers it's safe to eat cancer-causing arsenic but it's dangerous to drink elderberry juice! The FDA recently conducted an armed raid in an elderberry juice manufacturer, accusing it of the "crime" of selling "unapproved drugs." (http://www.naturalnews.com/032631_e...) Which drugs would those be? The elderberry juice, explains the FDA. You see, the elderberry juice magically becomes a "drug" if you tell people how it can help support good health.

The FDA has also gone after dozens of other companies for selling natural herbal products or nutritional products that enhance and support health. Plus, it's waging a war on raw milk which it says is dangerous. So now in America, we have a food and drug regulatory agency that says it's okay to eat arsenic, but dangerous to drink elderberry juice or raw milk.

Eat more poison, in other words, but don't consume any healing foods. That's the FDA, killing off Americans one meal at a time while protecting the profits of the very companies that are poisoning us with their deadly ingredients.

Oh, by the way, here's another sweet little disturbing fact you probably didn't know about hamburgers and conventional beef: Chicken litter containing arsenic is fed to cows in factory beef operations. So the arsenic that's pooped out by the chickens gets consumed and concentrated in the tissues of cows, which is then ground into hamburger to be consumed by the clueless masses who don't even know they're eating second-hand chicken sh*t. Well, I guess I will only eat organic chicken and beef from now on. No wonder the population is so fat, tired and sick. Really, stuff like this should cause people to revolt, but sadly I don't think people will do it ever, even knowing Israel did 9/11, I think the fools in this nation will just forgive them and keep giving them money. It sucks living in a real life "Twilight Zone" that you can't escape from.

Wow. Why is arsenic put into the feed? Surly the arsenic cant be good for the chicken either. Why would a farmer poison his own livestock?

Good question, I suspect there are no good answers and the FDA doesn't give a crap why they do it, and they weren't going to stop them from doing it either, Phiezer just voluntarily decide to stop it appears.

Chicken feed additive may pose danger

Thursday, February 07, 2008

By Don Hopey, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

A chicken feed additive containing arsenic and used to produce pinker, healthier, bigger-breasted birds could cause human disease, according to a study headed by a Duquesne University researcher.

The study is the first to link a human health risk to the feed additive that has been widely used since the 1960s by commercial chicken producers to control intestinal parasites, reduce stress, stimulate growth and improve the color of chicken meat.

Dr. Partha Basu, the study's lead author and associate professor in Duquesne's Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, said laboratory analysis reveals that the antibiotic arsenic compound roxarsone, which promotes the growth of blood vessels in chickens to produce pinker meat, does the same in human cell lines -- a critical first step in many human diseases, including cancer.

"This is a significant finding as it relates to potential human health effects from roxarsone," said Dr. Basu, who worked on the study with scientists from Thermo Fisher Scientific laboratories and the University of Pittsburgh's Department of Environmental and Occupational Health.

"We wanted to test if roxarsone, which increases pigmentation by forming more blood vessels in chickens, does the same in humans and the answer is yes," Dr. Basu said. "It's a process called angiogenesis, a common growth process, but also one that occurs in many diseases and cancers."

Results of the study have been published in Environmental Health Perspectives, an online journal of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, which supported the study.

Although the effect of roxarsone on those who eat chicken is still undetermined, Dr. Basu said, chicken-farm workers are likely at risk because they could inhale dust containing arsenic from feed and waste. In addition, those who work with or use commercial fertilizers containing waste from chickens that were fed the arsenic additive could also be exposed by breathing the dust.

The National Chicken Council, a Washington, D.C.-based trade organization for the poultry industry, wasn't aware of the study but maintained that roxarsone is safe and is approved by the Food and Drug Administration.

"The study is based on lab tests. There's nothing epidemiological about it," said Richard Lobb, a spokesman for the council, who emphasized that the study is not based on reports of actual illnesses. "It will need to be repeated and confirmed by other researchers."

U.S. chicken producers use a total of 2.2 million pounds of roxarsone each year. About 70 percent of the 9 billion fryer chickens grown annually nationwide eat feed containing the additive, which also is used in turkey and pig feed.

More than 95 percent of the roxarsone fed to chickens is excreted unchanged in chicken waste, which is regularly applied as fertilizer on surrounding farm fields or used in commercial fertilizers. The arsenic from those applications could leach into surface and ground water supplies.

The new study is a follow-up to one released by Dr. Basu and other Duquesne University researchers last March that found the organic arsenic feed additive is chemically transformed into inorganic arsenic, a known carcinogen, much more quickly than previously thought.

Arsenic occurs naturally in the environment, but industrial discharges by coal-burning power plants, industries and some mining operations are closely regulated. Its use in pesticides and as a wood preservative has been banned due to health concerns and the difficulty in removing it from the environment.

Chronic exposure to inorganic arsenic is known to cause cancer and has been linked to heart disease, diabetes and declines in brain functions.

Other studies have found the arsenic feed additive in dust inside rural homes near chicken farms and in ground water.

The study doesn't focus on the risks of eating chickens that were fed roxarsone, but Dr. Basu said there are reasons to be cautious.

"A 2006 University of Minnesota study bought fast food chicken in California and Minnesota and found high levels of arsenic," Dr. Basu said. "It's hard to say which chicken product might contain arsenic, but if it does, one should be careful. But not all of them do."

The European Union declared the use of roxarsone undesirable in 1999, and its members no longer use it Read more: http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/0...502-114.stm#ixzz0jfxAkFGO

Why wrong?

The white stuff in chicken feces is called URIC ACID. Mammals like us produce waste ammonia but it is combined with carbon dioxide (CO2) and converted into urea. Humans dissolve urea in water making urine (pee). Chickens do the process differently. They use less water and do not pee ,so they convert the ammonia into Uric acid and excrete it as a white paste or powder.

(Which makes good fertilizer).

FYI, man is not from the animal kingdom. We are not mammals. We are made in God's image. Animals, (cows and chickens, pigs, etc) are from the mammal kingdom.

The reason why I point that out, Lod, is because the notion of these so-called "scientists" categorizing man as of the animal kingdom is purely blasphemy. God made man in his image on the sixth day. The animals and creatures of the air were made on the Fourth and Fifth day. Also the notion of mixing animal blood parts with humans is an unholy act. This is known as vaccinations. This is mentioned in at Leviticus 19:19, Lamentations 4:13-15, Ezekial 3:18-20, 14-19, 16:6, 5:17, Luke 13:1-5
