12 Things That The Mainstream Media Is Being Strangely Quiet About Right Now

As the mainstream media continues to be obsessed with Anthony Weiner and his bizarre adventures on Twitter, much more serious events are happening around the world that are getting very little attention.  In America today, if the mainstream media does not cover something it is almost as if it never happened. Right now, the worst nuclear disaster in human history continues to unfold in Japan , U.S. nuclear facilities are being threatened by flood waters, the U.S. military is bombing Yemen, gigantic cracks in the earth are appearing all over the globe and the largest wildfire in Arizona history is causing immense devastation.  But Anthony Weiner, Bristol Palin and Miss USA are what the mainstream media want to tell us about and most Americans are buying it.

In times like these, it is more important than ever to think for ourselves.  The corporate-owned mainstream media is not interested in looking out for us.  Rather, they are going to tell us whatever fits with the agenda that their owners are pushing.

That is why more Americans than ever are turning to the alternative media.  Americans are hungry for the truth, and they know that the amount of truth that they get from the mainstream media continues to decline.

The following are 12 things that the mainstream media is being strangely quiet about right now....

#1 The crisis at the Fort Calhoun nuclear facility in Nebraska has received almost no attention in the national mainstream media.

Back on June 7th, there was a fire at Fort Calhoun.  The official story is that the fire was in an electrical switchgear room at the plant.  The facility lost power to a pump that cools the spent fuel pool for approximately 90 minutes.  According to the Omaha Public Power District, the fire was quickly extinguished and no radioactive material was released.

The following sequence of events is directly from the Omaha Public Power District website....

But the crisis at Fort Calhoun is not over.  Right now, the nuclear facility at Fort Calhoun is essentially an island. It is surrounded by rising flood waters from the Missouri River.

Officials claim that there is no danger and that they are prepared for the river to rise another ten feet.

The Cooper Nuclear Station in Brownville, Nebraska is also being threatened by rising flood waters.  A "Notification of Unusual Event" was declared at Cooper Nuclear Station this morning at 4:02.  This notification was issued because the Missouri River's water level reached 42.5 feet.

Right now the facility is operating normally and officials don't expect a crisis.

But considering what has been going on at Fukushima, it would be nice if we could have gotten a lot more coverage of these events by the mainstream media.

#2 Most Americans are aware that the U.S. is involved in wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya.  However, the truth is that the U.S. military is also regularly bombing Yemen and parts of Pakistan.  If you count the countries where the U.S. has special forces and/or covert operatives on the ground, the U.S. is probably "active" in more countries in the Middle East than it is not.  Now there are even persistent rumors that U.S. ground units are being prepared to go into Libya.  Are we watching the early stages of World War 3 unfold before our eyes in slow motion?

#3 The crisis at Fukushima continues to get worse.  Arnold Gundersen, a former nuclear industry senior vice president, recently made the following statement about the Fukushima disaster....

"Fukushima is the biggest industrial catastrophe in the history of mankind"

TEPCO has finally admitted that this disaster has released more radioactive material into the environment than Chernobyl did.  That makes Fukushima the worst nuclear disaster of all time, and it is far from over.

Massive amounts of water is being poured into the spent fuel pools in order to keep them cool.  This is creating "hundreds of thousands of tons of highly radioactive sea water" that has got to go somewhere.  Inevitably much of it will get into the ground and into the sea.

Arnold Gundersen says that the scope of this problem is almost unimaginable....

"TEPCO announced they had a melt through. A melt down is when the fuel collapses to the bottom of the reactor, and a melt through means it has melted through some layers. That blob is incredibly radioactive, and now you have water on top of it. The water picks up enormous amounts of radiation, so you add more water and you are generating hundreds of thousands of tons of highly radioactive water."

The mainstream media is not paying as much attention to Fukushima these days, but that doesn't mean that it is not a major league nightmare.

Elevated levels of radiation are being reported by Japanese bloggers all over eastern Japan.  There are reports of sick children all over the region.  One adviser to the government of Japan says that an area approximately 17 times the size of Manhattan is probably going to be uninhabitable.

Of course the mainstream media has been telling us all along that Fukushima is nothing to be too concerned about and that authorities in Japan have everything under control.

If the mainstream media is not going to tell us the truth, how are they going to continue to have credibility?

#4 Members of Congress continue to mention Christians as a threat to national security.  For example, during a recent Congressional hearing U.S. Representative Sheila Jackson Lee warned that "Christian militants" might try to "bring down the country" and that such groups need to be investigated.

#5 China's eastern province of Zhejiang has experienced that worst flooding that it has seen in 55 years.  2 million people have already been forced to leave their homes.  China has already been having huge problems with their crops over the past few years and this is only going to make things worse.

#6 Thanks to the Dodd-Frank Act, over the counter trading of gold and silver is going to be illegal starting on July 15th.  Or at least that is what some companies apparently now believe.  The following is an excerpt from an email that Forex.com recently sent out to their customers....

Important Account Notice Re: Metals Trading

We wanted to make you aware of some upcoming changes to FOREX.com’s product offering. As a result of the Dodd-Frank Act enacted by US Congress, a new regulation prohibiting US residents from trading over the counter precious metals, including gold and silver, will go into effect on Friday, July 15, 2011.

In conjunction with this new regulation, FOREX.com must discontinue metals trading for US residents on Friday, July 15, 2011 at the close of trading at 5pm ET. As a result, all open metals positions must be closed by July 15, 2011 at 5pm ET.

We encourage you to wind down your trading activity in these products over the next month in anticipation of the new rule, as any open XAU or XAG positions that remain open prior to July 15, 2011 at approximately 5:00 pm ET will be automatically liquidated.

We sincerely regret any inconvenience complying with the new U.S. regulation may cause you. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact our customer service team.

Sincerely,
The Team at FOREX.com

Apparently, Section 742(a) of the Dodd-Frank Act prohibits anyone "from entering into, or offering to enter into, a transaction in any commodity with a person that is not an eligible contract participant or an eligible commercial entity, on a leveraged or margined basis."

So what impact is this going to have on the gold and silver markets?

Nobody is quite sure yet.

#7 All over the world, huge cracks are appearing for no discernible reason.  For example, a massive crack that is approximately 3 kilometers long recent appeared in southern Peru.  Also, a 500 foot long crack suddenly appeared recently in the state of Michigan.  When you also throw in all of the gigantic sinkholes that have been opening all over the world, it is easy to conclude that the planet is becoming very unstable.

#8 According to U.S. Forest Service officials, the largest wildfire in Arizona state history has now covered more than 500,000 acres.  But based on the coverage it is being given by the mainstream media you would think that it is a non-event.

#9 There are reports that North Korea has tested a "super EMP weapon" which would be capable of taking out most of the U.S. power grid in a single shot.  The North Koreans are apparently about to conduct another nuclear test and that has some Obama administration officials very concerned.

#10 All over the United States, "active shooter drills" are being conducted in our public schools.  Often, most of the students are not told that these drills are fake.  Instead, students often go through hours of terror as they think a hostage situation or a shooting spree is really taking place.

#11 NASA has just launched a "major" preparedness initiative for all NASA personnel.  The following is an excerpt about this plan from NASA's own website....

A major initiative has been placed on Family/Personal Preparedness for all NASA personnel. The NASA Family/Personal Preparedness Program is designed to provide awareness, resources, and tools to the NASA Family (civil servants and contractors) to prepare for an emergency situation. The most important assets in the successful completion of NASA’s mission are our employees’ and their families. We are taking the steps to prepare our workforce, but it is your personal obligation to prepare yourself and your families for emergencies.

#12 Over the past week over 40 temporary "no fly zones" have been declared by the FAA.  This is very highly unusual.  Nobody seems to know exactly why this is happening.

So what do all of these things mean?

It would be nice if the mainstream media would examine some of these important issues more closely and do some honest reporting on them.

Perhaps you have an opinion on some of these issues.  Feel free to share what you think by leaving a comment below....

As I commented on another related thread:

Fukushima is under a Federal blackout. Anyone who does not think that censorship of news exists in the United States is naive to the point of near total ignorance.

The news is controlled and manipulated to control the perceptions and reactions of the general public. By controlling what people know they can control what people think, how they see the world, and to some degree how they react. This is known as Perception management which is a polite clinical way of saying mass mind control.

There are any number of key topics that are tightly controlled and omitted (censored) from the nooze.

Real government corruption.

Judicial Corruption.

Bankster corruption and control of the economy - particularly Da Fed.

That most of the top Banksters are Jewish.

That most of the top pornographers are Jewish.

That Israel controls U.S. Foreign Policy.

That the destruction of the American Economy is intentional.

That the dumbing down is intentional.

That the level of radiation escaping from Fukushima is much, much, much, worse than is being admitted.

That the nuclear plants in the Missouri River Drainage are already contaminating the countryside with radiation from the flood waters running over the spent fuel pools (spent fuel contains more lethal radiation than active fuel).

That UFOs are in some percentage from other worlds.

That there are structures, constructed structures, on the Moon and Mars (and possibly some of the outer transjovian moons).

That the moons of Mars, Phobos and Deimos, are likely hollowed out ships that were driven into Mars orbit at some point in the distant past.

That there is now, and has been since at least the 60's, a secret Space Program which is way way in advance of anything the public is allowed to know about. I suspect, but cannot prove, that we have had practical interplanetary travel since perhaps the late 60's and certainly by sometime in the 70's. Of course nothing about that would ever be allowed in the nooze.

I'm sure the poor knuckle dragging, mouth breathing, drooling, retards that comprise Freeptardia would just "have the vapors" if they were forced to confront reality. Their fantasies and delusions are much more comforting than the reality that the beloved U.S. Military is now a tool of oppression and mass murder.

And if that isn't enough, George Will wrote the following on June 10, 2011:

Here, however, is a paradox of sovereignty: The sovereign people, possessing the right to be governed as they choose, might find the exercise of that right tiresome and so might choose to be governed in perpetuity by a despot they cannot subsequently remove. Congress did something like that in passing the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, a.k.a. Obamacare.

The point of PPACA is cost containment. This supposedly depends on the Independent Payment Advisory Board. The IPAB, which is a perfect expression of the progressive mind, is to be composed of 15 presidential appointees empowered to reduce Medicare spending — which is 13 percent of federal spending — to certain stipulated targets. IPAB is to do this by making “proposals” or “recommendations” to limit costs by limiting reimbursements to doctors. This, inevitably, will limit available treatments — and access to care when physicians leave the Medicare system.

The PPACA repeatedly refers to any IPAB proposal as a “legislative proposal” and speaks of “the legislation introduced” by the IPAB. Each proposal automatically becomes law unless Congress passes — with a three-fifths supermajority required in the Senate — a measure cutting medical spending as much as the IPAB proposal would.

This is a travesty of constitutional lawmaking: An executive branch agency makes laws unless Congress enacts legislation to achieve the executive agency’s aim.

And it gets worse. Any resolution to abolish the IPAB must pass both houses of Congress. And no such resolution can be introduced before 2017 or after Feb. 1, 2017, and must be enacted by Aug. 15 of that year. And if passed, it cannot take effect until 2020. Defenders of all this audaciously call it a “fast track” process for considering termination of IPAB. It is, however, transparently designed to permanently entrench IPAB — never mind the principle that one Congress cannot by statute bind another Congress from altering that statute.

That principle may cause courts to dismiss the challenge by the Phoenix-based Goldwater Institute to Congress’s delegation of its powers, because courts may say that Congress can just change its mind. Hence the court may spurn the institute’s argument on behalf of two Arizona congressmen, Jeff Flake and Trent Franks, that the entrenchment of the IPAB seriously burdens the legislators’ First Amendment rights.

Diane Cohen, the institute’s senior attorney, demonstrates that the IPAB is doubly anti-constitutional. It derogates the powers of Congress. And it ignores the principle of separation of powers: It is an executive agency, its members appointed by the president, exercising legislative powers over which neither Congress nor the judiciary can exercise proper control.

Unfortunately, the IPAB may not be unconstitutional. This is because the Supreme Court, having slight interest in policing Congress’s incontinent desire to give to others the power to make difficult decisions, has become excessively permissive about delegation. Cohen notes this from Justice Antonin Scalia’s dissent in a 1989 case wherein the Supreme Court affirmed the power of the U.S. Sentencing Commission to set “guidelines” that, being binding, have the effect of statutes:

“I anticipate that Congress will find delegation of its lawmaking powers much more attractive in the future. .41;.41;. I foresee all manner of ‘expert’ bodies, insulated from the political process, to which Congress will delegate various portions of its lawmaking responsibility. How tempting to create an expert Medical Commission .41;.41;. to dispose of such thorny, ‘no-win’ political issues as the withholding of life-support systems in federally funded hospitals.”

The Supreme Court said that the legislative power of Congress does not include the power to delegate legislative authority to an executive agency without “intelligible principles” to constrain such authority. The only principle — if such it can be called — constraining the IPAB is that its mission is to cut medical costs as it sees fit.

The Goldwater Institute’s challenge to the IPAB serves the high purpose of highlighting some of Obamacare’s most grotesque provisions, which radiate distrust of the public and its elected representatives. The essence of progressivism, and of the administrative state that is progressivism’s project, is this doctrine: Modern society is too complex for popular sovereignty, so government of, by and for supposedly disinterested experts must not perish from the earth.

I don't think you can have it both ways. The concept of legalizing a fiction (corporation), making "it" a "person" with "rights" is a lie on its face and a fraud that corrupts society and law.

The purpose of corporations is to maximize profits and minimize liability. We, all of us, should be held to a standard of strict liability for our acts. Many of us, expecially those of us that want our cake and eat it too, invest in corporations that build bombs and offer a myriad of other murderous services; or we too hide ourselves behind the corporate veil with our own smaller corporations in order to avoid certain liabilities.

The reason our world seems out of control is because we've allowed this world of LEGAL FICTION to replace reality. Everything from our laws to our money have been switched from real to fiction.

"Government is the great fiction through which everybody endeavors to live at the expense of everybody else."

Corporations are liable for damages to the extent of their assets and insurance. It's only shareholders whose liability is limited to the extent of their invested capital (otherwise no one would bother buying shares in a corporation and risk being wiped out by some goof up by "employees.)"

I can tell you RTÉ's list of news to ignore is even longer than that. lol Like, they completely ignored the protests in Spain, and the virus outbreak in Ukraine.

Anyway, I am in aggreement with everything on the list except I am skeptical of #7 - the cracks opening up. It's just.. well, how do we know that such haven't been happening all along and that it's just elements of the Alternative Media picking up on it in recent times?

So the blackman orders a pint of of the Black Stuff in Hayes' pub in Moneygall, he hands the barman a Fiver and says; "I HOPE there is some CHANGE with that!" :-P

Yes and no. Yes the media is largely a Jewish controlled enterprise, but the Sheeple are conditioned to react with horror if Jews are mentioned in a bad light. Truth and reality have to be approached on a gradient. If you violate someone's reality they will not accept the message.

So, you have to ask which is the more important reality to communicate:

That the media is controlled.

Or that it is run by Jews.

This is a process of enlightenment and it has to be taken one step at a time.

To some extent that the media is run by Jews is almost irrelevant. It adds another level of identification to the "who" but is also a generality. Generalities do not resolve problems. Saying NATHAN ROTHSCHILD runs the international Bankster cartel specifies the exact who.

Same here. There are entire categories of information and events which are completely censored out. The most insidious form of lying, and that is what censorship is, is lying by omission, by not reporting important information. It just wouldn't do to have the public actually be well informed on key issues. They might come up with some strange ideas - like hanging the banksters and psychiatrists.

This was the first I had heard of #7 so I am putting that into the gray area basket. As you say the Earth is still a geologically active planet and geology happens. People make the mistake of thinking that because they have grown up in a relatively stable period that, that is the way it has always been. Wrong answer recruit. ;-)

Sorry for the reflexive action, but when I see the name George Will, I feel the urge to remind one and all that he qualifies as a full blown, red, diaper, doper baby.

WILL: They (his parents) were sort of academic liberals. They voted in the '30s for Norman Thomas several times, I think, a Socialist candidate. As most academics were and certainly in Illinois, they were supporters of Governor Stevenson against Eisenhower, but they followed, I won't say their son, but they followed the trend of the country a little bit to the right since then.

And so it goes, my theory about men wearing bow ties holds; never trust them.

You have a valid point. However, it runs deeper than that because Israel, whether the rank and file Israelis/American Zionists know or accept it or not, is a Rothschild fiefdom. As well much of the manipulation in the media, particularly the omission of some types of information, does not serve any particular interest of Israel. However, it makes sense, in an insane psychotic control freak way, when you allow that the interests actually being promoted have a goal of total control and world hegemony. So, without writing a massive post, the short of it is that yes the U.S. media serves Israeli interests, but there is another agenda behind that.

Of course we can't be sure but I surmise the Rothschilds parallel the Queen, titular head of "empire" but as Mr. Comatose once pointed out: Not to worry about America, Zionists had it in their pocket (through the Israeli lobby "electing" members of Congress and having control of media). Israel's Zionists and their duals in America are the ones principally concerned about the survival of their illegal state and it's their actions that present the greatest danger to America and the rest of mankind, especially if they just keep stealing Palestinian land, never paying for it, instigating wars against Israel's enemies). Rothschilds'NWO is just a fantasy; no way Russians are going to allow return to Jew control with the devastation the '17 Revolution caused. Neither are the Chinese going to allow their selr-serving control, seeing what their control did in Russia and is now doing in America, not mention control of banking and finances the world over.

My own experience is if people don't hear it on the MSM news, then it isn't happening. I wasn't believed when I told my parents about the Ukraine outbreak, because RTÉ didn't report it.

This was the first I had heard of #7 so I am putting that into the gray area basket. As you say the Earth is still a geologically active planet and geology happens. People make the mistake of thinking that because they have grown up in a relatively stable period that, that is the way it has always been. Wrong answer recruit. ;-)

Yes, indeed. It shouldn't surprise people that holes sometimes open up in the ground, there could be caves and chasm underneath we know nothing about.

I notice most of the sources reporting the holes are either End Timers or New Agers who both expect the shit to hit the fans in 2012...

So the blackman orders a pint of of the Black Stuff in Hayes' pub in Moneygall, he hands the barman a Fiver and says; "I HOPE there is some CHANGE with that!" :-P

I was listening to a Mayan scholar on Rense last night, Dr. Sam unpronounceable Slovakian, who is currently engaged in excavating the pyramids found in Bosnia and his comment was much as I have maintained for about the last ten years - that it is simply the end of a calendar cycle not the end of the world.

I guess that's why they call it programming. I had a similar experience with a young woman who worked in the same building - I told her about an archaeologic find off of the east coast of India and she refused to believe it because "if it had happened it would have been reported on CNN". Yet strangely, and in contradiction, most people are aware the media lies, but they believe the lies anyway.

War is Peace.

Freedom is Slavery.

Ignorance is Strength.

Remember The White Rose
"“Believe nothing merely because you have been told it. Do not believe what your teacher tells you merely out of respect for the teacher. But whatsoever, after due examination and analysis, you find to be kind, conducive to the good, the benefit, the welfare of all beings - that doctrine believe and cling to, and take it as your guide.” ~ Gautama Siddhartha — The Buddha

Yes, lol. My calender ends at the 31st December 2011... must be the end of the world. lol Now whether the NWO will attempt to stage or fake something next year is another matter..

Yes, odd that. Believe they are lying within the content, but not lying outside the content, ie, omitted details. I suppose it's that they piece together what they see, and dismiss what they don't see.
