Wayne Madsen, American journalist, conducting a regular journalistic investigation, arrived in Tripoli with a group assembled to ascertain the real facts.
In an interview with Russia Today TV channel, he said that the rebels are beginning to side with Muammar Gaddafi.
"There are some rebels who have returned to the camp of al-Gaddafi. We have heard reports of NATO strikes on a column of rebels. But there are other reports that say that this could be the rebels who tried to return to Tripoli to join al-Gaddafi. Gaddafi gave amnesty to those people "- said Madsen.
"Many former rebels, some of them I talked to, say," Look, we were not happy with Gaddafi. But when we saw NATO, including Italy, our former colonial occupiers, join it ... (we think), right, he is a dictator, we had more than 40 years, but damn, he is a Libyan nationalist, and he was able to create for us the highest standard of living in Africa,"- he said.
According to him, the Western media does not reflect what is really happening in Libya. Madsen also said "what these major newspapers have reported, has nothing to do with what I saw on the spot during the investigation carried out in Libya, along with former Congressman Cynthia McKinney."
"The journalists from the Washington Post and New York Times in Tripoli, they are in an alternate universe," he said, explaining that these publications are the property of corporations, defense contractors, who "do not want this information spread."
