Did the election of Barack Obama as US president boost the growth of right-wing and so-called "hate groups"?

A curious thing happens when you walk down the street in Spokane, Washington, first thing in the morning. Complete strangers look you in the eye, and say, with a little smile: "Good morning."

It is that kind of a town; if not close-knit, then, compared to some of the other towns and cities in America, human in scale and friendly to strangers.

The man alleged to have left a rucksack filled with explosives and shrapnel - covered in rat poison so as to stop blood clotting - is Kevin Harpham, an Army veteran with an interest in neo-Nazi groups.

The difficult truth for Spokane, for Washington State, for neighbouring Idaho and for all of the US, is that hate groups - anti-black, anti-Jew, neo-Nazi - are on the rise again.

And nearly everyone, including members of those groups, agrees that the election of Barack Obama has been a catalyst for the increase in support.

"I wouldn't say it surprises me," says Spokane's mayor Mary Verner, "though it is alarming to me".

"We are seeing a resurgence in hate groups because we are seeing democratic activity and empowered citizens who are not Anglo-Saxon Protestants."

There was the same sort of reaction from the local sheriff, Ozzie Knezovich, when he heard that a bomb had been left beside the route of the Martin Luther King Jr Day march.

And there are ordinary citizens - and their children - who are at the receiving end of hate group activity in Washington and Idaho.

Rachel Dolezal, who teaches art and African-American studies, has been repeatedly harassed since word got out about what she taught.

Her homes - she has moved several times - have been broken into. Nooses have been left for her, and a swastika was left on the door of her workplace.

"I actually bought him a pair of earphones for the bus," she says, "because he hears the word 'nigger' every day.

"It seems things were kind of hush and sanitised and cleaned up, or something, and then Barack Obama just brought things to the surface that were already existent within people."

Hate groups and other groups on the far right - so-called Patriot groups which vow to resist the encroachments of the Federal government, and anti-immigrant nativist groups - are tracked by the Southern Poverty Law Centre (SPLC).

"In the fall (autumn) of 2008," says the director of the SPLC's Intelligence Project, Mark Potok, "we started to see an explosion in hate groups, but more generally in right-wing groups of general types." Rise in requests

If Mark Potok wanted confirmation of his research, he could find it just across the border from Spokane, in the city of Coeur d'Alene, northern Idaho.

Sitting on his porch as the day fades into night is Jerald O'Brien, flanked by the flags of the Aryan Nations group and the Church of Jesus Christ-Christian.

Aryan Nations is a wildly anti-Jewish white separatist group. The faded plastic children's toys on the lawn seem more than a little incongruous.

Mr O'Brien insists he does not condone or encourage any acts of violence. He calls Jews "the children of Satan".

He accuses Barack Obama of being Jewish - he is not - and of not being a US citizen - he is. But he has cause to thank the president.

"The day after Barack Obama's election," he says, "my phone would not stop ringing. It was up to four or five a day asking for education and information."

Some will dismiss men such as Jerald O'Brien, and groups such as Aryan Nations, as "wackos" and "nut-jobs".

"I think we are in a very similar period as we were in the run-up to the Oklahoma City bombing," he says, "as far as a bombing or an attack like that, whether that will come, we don't know.

"We are very close in numbers to the numbers we had at the very peak of the militia movement."

I find racial prejudice, discrimination and segregation repugnant. Mankind is a family of races, each gifted and bringing something unique to the potluck.

At the same time, a balance must be found. Racial and national groups have a right to protect their racial character. I find it odd that countries like Israel, China and Japan can do this without criticism but countries in Europe and North America cannot. Blacks, Jews and Hispanics can do this but Europeans cannot. I also believe discrimination in favor of a "minority" is as bad as discrimination against.

I am a Canadian and am not an expert on the Civil Rights movement. However, if the CPUSA was involved, there was a hidden agenda.

It appears to be spelled out in a document entitled "A Racial Program for the 20th Century" (1912) by a British Fabian "Israel Cohen" quoted by Congressman Thomas Abernathy during the Civil Rights debate, and entered into the Congressional Record (1957), p. 8559. If authentic, it is pretty revealing:

"We must realize that our party's most powerful weapon is racial tension. By propounding into the consciousness of the dark races that for centuries they have been oppressed by the whites, we can move them to the program of the Communist Party. In America we will aim for subtle victory. While inflaming the Negro minority against whites, we will instill in the whites a guilt complex for their exploitation of the Negroes. We will aid the Negroes to rise to prominence in every walk of life, in the professions, and in the world of sports and entertainment. With this prestige, the Negro will be able to intermarry with the whites and begin a process which will deliver America to our cause."

Remember, the central bankers are involved in a massive fraud: printing our money for the price of the paper, loaning it to us and then demanding repayment with interest. The only way they can perpetuate this fraud is to distract us. That involves creating enemies.

Minorities can be turned into internal enemies. Look at France with its five million Muslims. Currently Muslim youth are rioting. French Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy said Thursday that the riots were "not spontaneous" but rather "well organized." Do I need to elaborate? The central bankers use racial minorities as a weapon.

A final suggestion is that, given the heavily Jewish character of the Communist Party, the Civil Rights Movement may have been designed to tear down White racial defences so that sympathetic Jews might advance. ...."

what they are inferring is that white Protestants belong to the racist and unbiblical movement known as "Christian Identity", an offshoot of British-Israelism, another unbiblical movement manned by a union of British royalty and Jewish finance, and their dupes.

Added (12-20-01) : I wanted to elaborate a little on my beliefs and understandings about "Christian Identity and British Israelism", since there are so many good christians that are being duped by this. I know and associate with many good christians and over and over I deal with these issues, unfortunately. There are alot of severely mis-informed, well intentioned people out there who are buying into this garbage and it is promoted on the internet by people who claim they are not racist at all. So it is taking a new turn now, to "clean" itself of the racism aspect, but it really all boils down to a few "key" concepts and beliefs. That is the dangerous part, because now, there are followers of these two ideas and they don't even know that it is ALL RACIST.

I am in possession of two very important documents that most have never heard of. The first one is a CIA "memo" with agency letterhead and a couple of details ommitted. I got this document in a white paper from Craig Hulet entitled "The New World Order" Global Regime of Economic Interdependence Pt. 1 and 2. These were $40.00 each when I bought them and they are very thick, containing hardcore documentation. At the time I bought them, I was just starting to learn, and put them aside, because they were too intense for my understanding at my age. (20) But I realized that Hulet was speaking the truth so I bought them to read later and try to understand what is going on in the world. I have had this for 10 years now, at least. Well, back in 1997, I was researching some things for my catalog and I came across this document. It was in this white paper with no other apparantly related articles. I struck a "chord" when I read the word "Identity" in it. I am going to scan it in in the near future, but for now, here is what it says :

A new international order is our national goal and will be achieved in the interest of peace and stability. To further this goal all Earl of Dysart fronts including all identity movements must be protected. Only limited official reaction to these groups must be allowed.

This operation is classified under the highest priority. It must only be referred to as Earl of Dysart.

To appear spontaneous, funding must come from the adherants as much as possible and it must be expanded as a religious movement.

Earl of Dysart must be protected under the First Amendment of the United States Constitution.

It sounds to me like "Christian Identity" is in reality, a CIA Intelligence operation in disguise. Most likely, to foment revolution in America, to ignite race wars between whites and jews, blacks and jews, and whites and blacks. Also, most likely, to gather intelligence and information on those in the so called "patriot movement", sovereigns, anti-abortionists and other foes of the "New World Order". It also appears that this could be used to bring about terrorism in order to pass anti-terrorism laws into effect, thereby guaranteeing a more "peaceful and stable" national state. Isn't it a strange coincidence how Rev. Robert Millar (Grandpa), who ran "Elohim City", the christian identity compound where Timothy McVeigh was staying, was exposed in court proceedings as an FBI informant. This was the same man who told the followers that if they didn't do something to strick at the heart of the Federal Government by April 19th, that the government was going to attack them. This man directly encouraged the bombing of the Oklahoma Federal Building by Timothy McVeigh, and he was an FBI informant and he was the head of "Elohim City". I wrote about this in my catalog intro back in 1998.

So, things start to make a little more sense, now, when one has a broader perspective. Now, for the second document I have, which ties British Israel into all this, as well. It is titled "Steps Toward a British Union, a World State, and International Strife". It is a series of comments on the floor of the House by Montana Representative J. Thorkelson and dated starting Monday Aug. 19th, 1940. But the Jewish people, as a whole, made fearful by the pogroms, could not be depended upon to create the violence necessary to destroy the unity of the American people. But right within America; there was an already made-to-order, although as yet, a sleeping minority-group, the Negroes, who could be sparked into so-called demonstrations, rioting, looting, murder, and every other type of lawlessness - all that was necessary, was to incite and arouse them. It was sheer propaganda to incite the Negroes and Jews because the play purportedly visualized how the American people were discriminating against, and persecuting Jews and Negroes. The propaganda was well wrapped-up in the truly great entertainment in the play and it was a big Broadway Hit.

"Now in those years, the legendary Diamond Jim Brady used to throw a banquet at the famous Delmonico Restaurant in New York after the opening-performance of a popular play. He threw such a party for the cast of "The Melting-Pot," its author, producer, and chosen Broadway-celebrities. By then I'd already made a personal mark on the Broadway Theater and was invited to that party. There I met George Bernard Shaw and a Jewish writer named Israel Cohen. Zangwill, Shaw, and Cohen were the ones who created the Fabian Society in England and had worked closely with a Frankfurt Jew named Mordicai who had changed his name to Karl Marx; but remember, at that time both Marxism and Communism were just emerging and nobody paid much attention to either and nobody suspected the propaganda in the writings of those three really brilliant writers.

"At that banquet; Israel Cohen told me that he was then engaged in writing a book which was to be a follow-up on Zangwill's "The Melting-Pot." The title of his book was to be "A Racial-Program for the 20th Century." At that time I was completely absorbed by my work as a playwright, and significant as that title was, its real-objective never dawned on me nor was I interested in reading the book. But it suddenly hit me with the force of a hydrogen-bomb when I received a newspaper-clipping of an item published by the Washington D.C. Evening Star in May 1957. That item was a verbatim reprint of the following excerpt in Israel Cohen's book "A Racial-Program for the 20th Century" and it read as I quote:

"Thus the authenticity of that passage in Cohen's book was fully established. But the one question that remained in my mind was whether it represented the official policy or plot of the Communist Party or just a personal expression of Cohen himself. Hence I sought more proof and I found it in an official pamphlet published in 1935 by the New York Communist Party's official Workers' Library Publishers. That pamphlet was entitled: "The Negroes in a Soviet America." It urged the Negroes to rise-up; form a soviet-state in the south, and apply for admission to the Soviet Union.

It contained a firm pledge that the revolt would be supported by all American "reds" and all so-called "liberals". On page 38; it promised that a Soviet government would confer greater benefits to Negroes than to whites and again this official communist pamphlet pledged that; I quote: "any act of discrimination or prejudice against a Negro will become a crime under the revolutionary law." That statement proved that the excerpt in Israel Cohen's book published in 1913 was an official-edict of the Communist Party and directly in line with the Illuminati-blueprint for world-revolution issued by Weishaupt and later by Albert Pike.

"Now there's only one question and that is to prove that the communist regime is directly controlled by the American Jacob Schiff and London Rothschild masterminds of the great conspiracy. A little later I will provide that proof that will remove even a remote doubt that the Communist Party, as we know it, was created by those masterminds (capitalists if you will note); Schiff, the Warburgs, and the Rothschilds that planned and financed the entire Russian Revolution; the murder of the Czar and his family, and that Lenin, Trotsky, and Stalin took their orders directly from Schiff and the other capitalists whom they supposedly are fighting.

"Now can you see why the vile Earl Warren and his equally vile co-Supreme Court justices issued that infamous and treasonous desegregation-decision in 1954? It was to aid and abet the plot of the Illuminati conspirators to create tension and strife between the Negroes and Whites. Can you see why the same Earl Warren issued his decision prohibiting Christian-prayers and Christmas-carols in our schools? Why Kennedy did likewise? And can you see why Johnson and 66 Senators, despite the protests of 90% of the American people, voted for the "Consular Treaty" which opens our entire country to Russian spies and saboteurs? All those 66 Senators are 20th century Benedict Arnolds.

"It is up to you and you, all of the American people, to force Congress, our elected servants, to haul in those American traitors for impeachments and that when proven guilty; they all be given the punishment prescribed for traitors who aid and abet our enemies. And that includes the enforcing of rigid investigations by Congress of the "CFR" and all their fronts, such as the "ADL," the "NAACP," "SNIC," and such Illuminati tools as Martin Luther King. Such investigations will completely unmask all the leaders in Washington, D.C. and the Illuminati and all their affiliations and affiliates as traitors carrying-out the Illuminati plot. It will completely unmask the United Nations as the intended crux of the entire plot and force Congress to take the U.S. out of the U.N. and hurl the U.N. out of the U.S.. In fact; it will destroy the U.N. and the entire plot......"

"The goal for which we have striven so concertedly for three thousand years is at last within our reach, and because its fulfillment is so apparent, it behooves us to increase our efforts and our caution tenfold. The Russians, as well as the Asiatic peoples, are well under control and offer no objections to war, but we must wait to secure the Americans. This we hope to do with the issue of Anti-Semitism, which worked so well in uniting the Americans against Germany. We are counting heavily on reports of anti-Semitic outrages in Russia to whip up indignation in the United States and produce a front of solidarity against the Soviet power. Simultaneously, to demonstrate to Americans the reality of anti-Semitism, we will advance through new sources large sums of money to outspokenly anti-Semitic elements in America to increase their effectiveness, and we shall stage Anti-Semitic outbreaks in several of their largest cities. This will serve the double purpose of exposing reactionary sectors in America, which then can be silenced, and of welding the United States into a devoted anti-Russian unit. Within five years, this program will achieve its objective, the Third World War, which will surpass in destruction all previous contests. Israeli, of course, will remain neutral, and when both sides are devastated and exhausted, we will arbitrate, sending our Control Commissions into all wrecked countries. This war will end for all time our struggle against the Gentiles.

We will openly reveal our identity with the races of Asia and Africa. I can state with assurance that the last generation of white children is now being born. Our Control Commissions will, in the interests of peace and wiping out inter- racial tensions.

Forbid the Whites to mate with Whites. The White Women must cohabit with members of the dark races, the White Men with black women. Thus the White Race will disappear, for the mixing of the dark with the White means the end of the White Man, and our most dangerous enemy will become only a memory. We shall embark upon an era of ten thousand years of peace and plenty, the Pax Judaica, and our race will rule undisputed over the world. Our superior intelligence will easily enable us to retain mastery over a world of dark peoples.
