This was a NYC subway. Apparently the woman in blue, who was pushing the baby carriage, felt that the woman in white had either stolen her seat or was pushing her out of seat by squeezing onto the bench (both women are pretty wide).

I've seen fights on the subway for even less. But here's an interesting fact that is much neglected: The woman with the baby carriage had to stand up ... and nobody else in that whole car offered her their seat! Not just the woman in white but the whole effing car was selfish.

I would opine that, after pushing a baby through the unspeakable NYC heat (which probably would make the baby and me plenty cranky) and then having to stand in a crowded subway, I'd probably have a hair trigger temper as well.
