Hey bud. Long time no see, how's it going? Baby doing well?

Liberty is not a means to a higher political end. It is itself the highest political end.    Lord Acton

He (Gordon Duff) also implies that forcibly removing Obama, a Constitution-hating, on-the-down-low, crackhead Communist, is an attack on America, Mom, and apple pie. Not sure as to the accuracy of any of it.... I mean I think it's correct but I have not been making the long distance phone calls to find out...

Now yall might be asking "WTF is the point of this"

The point would be to get the goods on his home address... maybe plant some pot in his yard and report it, maybe slash his tires and sugar his tank, maybe do something... ANYTHING more then then just watching video of his behavior and talking about it with each other. Just watching and talking doesn't get shit done. We have to take action to advance the solution. The solution being his ass never on the streets ever again anywhere. The solution being the removal of scum that abuse their authority. The solution being ACTION!

Freebie hint - patronizing a Stop'n Rob anytime after 11ishAM is generally a bad idea.

1:30 AM Saturday morning I was returning from a club where the band was using two music tracks that I recorded for them. This was a first for me, to record tracks and be paid for my trouble and it's the first time I've been out that late or even to a club in ages.

Anyway I stopped a 7-11 for eggs and bread because Wifey gets up and leaves so early some days that I couldn't run up and shop at 6 AM when our usual grocery store opens.

There was a carload of thuggish kids leaving when I pulled up. They sized me up as I walked in with my make my day strut, and they were still there when I left but they kept their traps shut and I didn't have to kick the ever luving deux deux outta anyone....They were looking for fear (or perhaps hoping to instill it) and they couldn't see any. I had my aluminum knucks in my pocket so I could economize-one shot per customer. It's amazing how quickly the fight goes out of a kid when you knock his phu**ing teeth out!

ahaha. classic.

I know it reads like I'm boasting but on a different day that guy may have popped my head off like a dove. Of course he may not have been an idiot when he wasn't loaded, either.

That night he was and I wasn't, I had been studying with an instructor who taught street fighting (not dojo ballerina dance steps) and I was irritated by his man-handling of the little nerdy clerk with the gimpy leg.

After it was all over and the cops were gone the clerk criticized me and said that he didn't feel threatened and didn't mind the drunk reaching over and shaking him. I asked him if he'd ever been in a fight (No) and I suggested that perhaps he was so resigned to being bullied that he had forgotten that bullies deserve to get trimmed for the sake of people who aren't completely pussified and don't take that abuse. (Like me) He was also probably thinking of what to say if the goon returned and there was no one else there. ("Uh, would a quick BJ square things between us, Sir?") It was clear that he intended to rely on the kindness of strangers who hassled or robbed him, hoping they wouldn't kill him in the process.

He shut up when I made it clear that I had no respect for the politics of "lay prostrate and surrender.."

Anyway I didn't attack the guy because of him, I defended myself against the promise of great bodily harm once the goon changed his focus to me.

that is 1 great 711 story! ;-)

Thanks.

When I went to the hospital to check on the guy, my buddy (who worked security there, and also as as a reserve police officer in Arcadia, CA) told me that he made a point of telling the other guard on duty (a reserve Montebello cop and a spoiled rich kid that we couldn't stand) what I had done. He said, "Did you see that big dude in the ER? DAWG Fu**ed that guy up!"

Later on that rich kid was working as a reserve cop and he got too close to a Mexican during an arrest and the drunk suspect punched his lights out and broke his eyeglasses with one blow! Not only did it happen in front of several full time Montebello cops (he was hoping to be hired full time but his Mommy's connections weren't juicy enough for that-they got him on as security at the hospital though) but it made for an interesting comparison between my handling of a potential threat and his.

He also boasted that he owned a stainless steel S&W .44 mag and I said, "Smith & Wesson doesn't make a stainless steel .44 mag.", to which he replied, Yes they do, I should know what my own gun's made out of, shouldn't I?" His tone of voice was angry and loud, as if he was insulted by my challenge.

He brought it in the next day (I wasn't there) and the supervisor broke the bad news- it was a nickel plated Mod 29.

We knowledgeable gun enthusiasts were closely following the development of the Mod 629 stainless .44 mag (in 1980) and I knew damned well that it was not yet in production. During the argument even the supervisor said, "...You mean, YOU'VE never seen one....", as if to imply that it may be in production and I didn't know it. But he collected custom shop handguns and he knew a nickel plated gun when he saw it.

After that the rich kid made a point of avoiding me whenever I was at the hospital visiting my wife who also worked there. I guess it was hard to admit he was wrong, especially since he was so arrogant and self assured when I challenged him about his gun.

I try to get him one or two as I can--wish I could buy him any and all that he might like to have but I guess we can't always do all we would like to do for those we care about. I know I can't.

If there is a better way of showing that in your heart he's your son I don't know what it is.

He will always remember you as the man who did what so many cannot-accept another man's son as his own and love him unconditionally. And each knife regardless of the price will demonstrate how important he is to you, something everyone takes for granted when a bio dad brings gifts to his child. But it's those crucial things you share with him during his formative years that makes you his father, and he will understand that and pass that treasure on during his life. Each time you explain why the aesthetics of a certain knife caught your eye "and you believed that he'd also like it" his heart will swell with a joy that he may not even be able to properly express. But, trust me, someday he will.

Those knives aren't just keepsakes but treasured heirlooms that represent your very special love, a kind of love that makes me proud to be a man. It not only speaks volumes about your love for his mother but it's a love that provides the so very essential net and umbrella, filling a vacuum that all boys desperately need to fully form their character and to completely develop as men.

I love my $20 Buck folders and $25 Gerber LST (even more now that Buck steel can be seriously sharpened and not just relied upon for their strength) as much as my pricey Puma, COLD STEEL and SPYDERCO blades because the Bucks were gifts from the kids and because they're darn cool designs!

A cool knife is truly a thing of beauty and some of the most functional I own could be lost and replaced without bankrupting us. It's really great that my son can carry a razor sharp knife in a bathing suit pocket while swimming without having to worry if it's lost. All of his (and mine) can be readily opened in a flash with one hand and will hold an edge long enough to cut away from a life threatening entanglement even if it involves nylon rope. As "working poor folks" we really appreciate that knife manufacturers are gearing products to our tastes and budget, and I'd never be ashamed to produce one of mine at a champagne soiree of snobby rich people, especially if it's one of their daughters whose hair is caught in the swimming pool suction drain. (A girl drowned in NJ years ago as five adult men stood around because not one had a pocketknife on his person. If a man has his pants on he should have a blade in his pocket)

The lines and blade grinds of these affordable knives are so cool that I just gotta love them, so you can be sure that your son will appreciate those that catch your eye as much as you do, especially if you get him a small DMT sharpening stone (from $13 to $40-I love this one) and he can replace an edge after use and (because of the fast cutting embedded diamond chips) not spend five minutes doing it.

Many moons ago Mrs.L attempted to lop off her left thumb going after the last scrap of meat on a ham shank bone with a crappy dull knife.

Luckily, the doc at the ER was doing his residency in micro-surgery and had a fine time reattaching everything perfectly.

Other than a faint, fading scar, she's enjoyed complete recovery; and there's not a dull blade in the house.

Speaking of knives as gifts, my bestest buddy was over today to show me his latest acquisition (a S&W round butt 4" bbl Mod 66 with a titanium, plutonium finish or sumthin like that) and we started discussing knives which quickly became show and tell.

Well, my son quite unexpectedly gave me something I've wanted for a while but never owned-a super kewl GERBER Assisted Opening pocketknife!

He temporarily misplaced the knife then bought a replacement so he gave me the lost then found first one! It seems that my generosity to him whenever he needs stuff (working guitar cords, really neato specialty tools and meters, etc.,) has rubbed off and he wants to share that good feeling I get when I delight him with unexpected gifts!

I also surprised my buddy with a lockable, "TSA approved" pistol case for his new .357 (he brought the gun over in a plastic grocery bag) so it was a fun time for all!

Great example for any who may have wondered exactly what danger we were talking about.

When I see someone struggling to slice or punch with a dull blade I immediately point out where on their body that knife may end up if it slips with all of their strength behind it.

It scares me to anticipate that and I hope I make an impression when I share my "insight beyond that of mere mortals". Lawdy gnos I dun cut mah self befo' making dat mistake even with screw drivers at work, and I don't recommend that edged tools (or weapons) handling skills be learned the hard way.

It is more blessed to give, than to receive.

Nice work all way around.

It really was a good day all around. My buddy just buried his dear mother two weeks ago (a lovely farmer's widow who fed me every time I had occasion to visit the farm for a shooting session) and I did a 'puter search on MD inheritance tax (none up to a million bux) and probate so he was well armed when he met with the lawyer the first time.

I even house sat to make sure that no "Nawthern scalawags, 'scape-gallows or ne'er do wells" could help themselves to the accrued wealth in the house during the funeral. I went down and sang some Merle Haggard ballads to the 16 cows that walked up when they heard me at the gate, and they formed a perfect half circle and stood or sat and listened politely. And, I felt like Neil Diamond at the Greek when he recorded HOT AUGUST NIGHT.

So, today was a good day for a friend who is still adjusting to the fact that both his parents are gone. I remember the feeling well although it happened to me nearly 20 years ago, and it does cause one to ponder one's own mortality.

During one visit to the farm I noticed that the outer storm door was nearly off its original full mortise hinges. (cheepo aluminum) So, as "Mom" prepared lunch (and after convincing my buddy that the repair was a snap for an experienced automatic pedestrian door tech-me) he and I ran to the general store and I bought two stainless full surface hinges and some stainless self tapping screws and a 5/16" nut driver bit for the battery drill they had.

I shimmed the door up in the closed position, shot some screws into the outside surface mount hinges (leaving the original hinges in place) and she was thrilled because that drooping door made the old farmhouse look rundown when it really wasn't. That was about 4 years ago and the door has been wind-whipped in several storms since with no ill effects, and no rust stains running down the white door from the hinges or screws.

Total cost? About 8 bux.

The relationship between morality and liberty is a directly proportional one.

You in MD?

No, I'm in DE and my buddy's parents' farm was in the contiguous MD county known as Cecil, the extreme western county at the top of the Chesapeake bay.
