[my title] Off of today's "Hero" Blotter Report CLARK COUNTY, IN (WAVE) - A member of the Clark County Sheriff's Office is arrested for domestic battery. Sheriff Danny Rodden tells WAVE 3 that Lt. Col. John Shelton was arrested early Sunday morning by Indiana State Police. Rodden says Shelton has been with his department for more than 20 years, currently serving as the second shift commander. The sheriff's department says the Shelton's wife went to the Sellersburg State Police Post to report she had been battered by her husband. Police add that through the investigation troopers were able to establish enough probable cause to arrest Shelton. Troopers arrested Shelton at his Charlestown home about 2:30 a.m. Sunday. He has been charged with a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery. Poster Comment: I'm curious what she, his wife did to deserve a beating. Probably made a sudden move with a manual egg beater and he thought it was an RPG and being taken totally by surprise and likely, and inadvisably, not in his kevlar and with his pistol/tazer Bat-Belt, he had to beat her by hand, the old-fashioned way. Good thing though, or one of our heroes may have suffered serious scratches and/or bruises. Again, just speculation, but we owe a debt of gratitude to our heros, they do so much for us to protect us and keep us safe! I'm just glad that this guy's wife wasn't unleashed on society! I honestly cannot even imagine being approached hostily by a woman like that, particularly if she'd be wielding a pen-knife, or worse yet, something much larger and lethal like a manual egg-beater or a spatula. I don't know how these heroes rest at night given all of the threats right and left continually! They are true heroes! .... and thank heavens that this threat to our democratic society was squelched post haste. Hopefully, and presumably, he will be acquitted of all charges as the court system sees the value of his heroic service to our nation!!! I for one don't believe for a NY second that he didn't have good cause to beat his wife. In fact she's lucky she wasn't tazed or shot to death.
