Two weeks before the USS Cole was attacked, Able Danger members sent out a memo warning members of the Clinton Administration, Rep. Curt Weldon, (R-PA) said Thursday. On the Sean Hannity program, Rep. Weldon said that members of the Able Danger team had also warned the former Clinton administration not to send the USS Cole to Yemen, 2 days before it was bombed, and are willing to testify to it under oath.

Weldon also said that the Pentagon and the DOD are doing all that they can to silence the now 7 individuals, all former members of Able Danger, who want to testify. Weldon advised that all of these individuals maintain “impeccable credentials”. Rep. Weldon also advised that he has evidence that staff members supporting the Senators of the 9/11 Commission did not want former Clinton Administration officials ‘outed’ and, therefore, failed to give them the necessary Able Danger information.

All of the former Able Danger members, who are willing to testify, have been placed under “gag orders” from the Pentagon and the Department of Defense.

Ok now Curt's intentions are crystal clear - nail Clinton.

Gen Zinni, who had setup the Aden basing arrangement, would have been the one with final approval and who Clinton would defer to. It was a politicomilitary call by the Pentagon. Did Zinni know of AD?

He most certainly knew about the aborted attack on the Sullivans, despite the spin that the US didn't know it had been attempted but didn't succeed because the boat sank of it's own weight.

Makes me think... Any negative press reports about the Clinton administaration are going to affect Hillary's '08 run. This could be the only reason he's been allowed to ramble on so.

I tend to disagree. This is not to stymie Hillary (who I believe is virtually preordained to be the First Madame Presidente) but to deflect attention onto Clinton for Cole bypassing the rather more pertinent issue of why Bush didn't restart AD, and why was evidence destroyed last year when some of that original research may have proved useful even now.

Don't trust Suitcase Curt at all. He's beating the Iran drum.
