I have the DVD.

I never knew a U-Boat sailed up the Mississippi River.

Amazing movie, I just watched it last week, ordered it from Amazon.com

I never knew one went up the Mississippi.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I recall in the movie that 40,000 German soldiers manned the U Boats, and 30,000 never returned. It would have been horrifying to have been on one of those things with depth charges being lobbed at it.

Those figures are on the Das Boat preamble. They took huge casualties, and many died from disease while on the U-boats.

Good lord, this is the first time the "We can either fight them over there or we'll have to fight them over here" people have been right since Xerxes.

Surely it was at night, up-periscope.

That is a seriously muddy river.
