Interview with Mark Dankof, former US Senate Candidate The US has successfully tested a new type of powerful High-Density Reactive Materials (HDRM) that doesn't throw steel shrapnel and ignites a chemical explosion with a lot more energy than anything seen before.

Missiles containing the HDRM can explode with five times the energy of the most powerful existing armament. The new material is a mixture of metals and polymers and is said to be as dense as steel. US Navy scientists claim that projectiles containing the new compound are less likely to kill bystanders.

In a Press TV interview, Mark Dankof, former US Senate Candidate, shed more light into this development. The following is a rush transcription of the interview:

Press TV: The unveiling of the explosive material likely comes after combat zone experiments and real deployments -- for how long and where do you think the U-S has used this material before unveiling it?

Dankof: Well I think we have to look at the political implication of the story. The first is that with all the setbacks for the US in Iraq, and Afghanistan.

It seems to me that the story is being reported by the BBC, at the time, when the story itself suggest that the US is somehow is making big progress, and what he is doing with its military dollars, when in fact, the exact opposite is true.

I think, we are also dealing with the situation when you look at the totality of the story, where BBC was trying to sell, or people we are giving them story, we are trying to sell an idea that these supposedly wonderful weapons, that have five times the explosive power of its predecessors, when in fact result in fewer, not greater civilian casualties.

I think that needs to be seen against the back drop of all the civilian casualties that have taken place in Iraq and Afghanistan and also these Drones strikes in Pakistan. I think there is a lot of agitation, propaganda behind the story frankly. And maybe the most significant thing is what the story did intimate about the eventual price tag of these weapons.

Press TV: Okay in simple terms for people who are not experts, the compound looks very similar to the material some experts believe was used in what they called the controlled demolition of the twin towers. What is your take on that?

Dankof: Well that is very interesting linkage, especially since we have series of people in the US, some of our finest people in the realm of physics, with PHDs from some of our most prestigious institutions, have gone on the record of saying that they believe that the twin towers were brought down by controlled termite demolitions. Meaning that the official story of what happened on 9/11 is not correct.

I am not a scientist, so I cannot address that. Other than to say, this many prestige's physicists in the US are making these statements and are making them publicly.

Press TV: The story that BBC has claimed that makes it a lot more precise, and it does not kill bystander... If we take that story and run with it, we have seen NATO bombing taking place in Pakistan and Afghanistan, where the target by itself are skewed. So would it mattered, if the new explosive which decreases the collateral damage we gonna see?

Dankof: Again we have to understand the larger political context of the story, If your viewers simply go to antiwar.com, which I think has the best of both left and the right in the US, that are critical in the military involvements, we can see on the daily bases, by just looking at that website, how many civilian are being killed out of all these wars that have begun in the Middle East in the last ten years.

And clearly when we look at these stories disseminating out of BBC in regards to these new wonder explosive weapons, we have to ask ourselves, whether or not these wars that the US is involved in, are right now, are legitimate wars?

And average Americans needs to be asking whether or not these wars are truly in the interest of the American People, not simply in terms of what we are doing over there, but the incredible cost of all this at home. It is not accident that the budget of the US and the size of the Federal budget of the US, and the incredible national deficits have ballooned in the last ten year, since 9/11.

This is having deleterious effect on the economy and on the value of the American dollar, and the American people are beginning to figure out that there is relationship between what is happened to themselves economically, and what I argue, are these completely unnecessary wars in that part of the world.
