August 21, 2011 – MEXICO – The Mexican government is releasing state-held secrets about the end of the Mayan calendar to the makers of a documentary, “Revelations of the Mayans 2012 and Beyond,” TheWrap has learned. The information — protected for 80 years — is expected to reveal Mayan beliefs in future catastrophes and wisdom characterized as “shocking,” producer Raul Julia-Levy, son of actor Raul Julia, told TheWrap. The end of the Mayan calendar in December 2012 has long given rise to theories and speculation about the end of the world. The agreement will allow Julia-Levy to film in never-before-seen locations. “The Mayans used to construct one pyramid over another,” tourism minister for the Mexican state of Campeche Luis Augusto Garcia Rosado told TheWrap. “In the site at Calakmul (pictured below right), workers for INAH [the National Institute of Anthropology and History] have discovered rooms inside the pyramid that have never been seen or explored before.”And we’re letting this documentary film there, to see what has been discovered inside the pyramid.” Julia-Levy (above) said he’d been made aware of the secret Mayan information by former Mexican president Vicente Fox — a friend of his family — and that it took four years of phone calls to finally get the OK from current president Felipe Calderon. “This is very important for humanity, not just for Mexico,” said Julia-Levy. “This information has been protected for 80 years, and now it’s important for people to understand the series of events that are coming, and the consequences for all of us.” The English-language documentary will be directed by Juan Carlos Ruflo (whose other films include the 2006 Sundance winner “In the Pit”), and will begin shooting later this year. Elbert said the filmmakers are talking to investors and waiting for the government to give them their first look at the material and the site. One big condition from the Mexican government was that the film get an initial theatrical release, which is planned for next fall, said Ed Elbert who is co-producing along with Julia-Levy and Sheila M. Contrary to many of the posts above, I do not believe that the end of the Mayan calendar will be the end of our civilization. The Mayans described a series of changes that are set to begin in 2012, but if any interpretation leads to believing in the end of our civilization, it is the study of the Katun 13. This is the actual prediction. The end of that Katun does not arrive until around 2043. Also, the Mayans predicted the third world war would occur before our end times. Unfortunately, their teaching has been so commercialized and misunderstood, that when we wake up post 12/21/2012, many people will believe the worst is over. No, it is actually the beginning of worse things to come JB says: It needs to be clear that the Mayan calendar does NOT end next year. Their measuring of time wasn’t linear it was cyclical. They were well aware of the Fibonacci sequences in nature/time and the exact movements of planets, the earth and the moon in relation to each other. Their astronomy was a foundational resource for controlling the people and planning. If the chief priest/ruler was advised of an upcoming eclipse he could use that to warn people that if they didn’t do such and such or stop doing such and such then the sun would grow dark and voila!… solar eclipse and group diarrhea . They were also dualists with a religious fervor. There is significant documentation of the ceremonies where they would pass a torch of fire between cycles on the eve of the cycle to come…which represented the relighting of the sun. That pattern of thinking doesn’t lend itself to “an end”. It is the end of a supercycle and the beginning of another with many smaller cycles within. The difference between us and them is that they used the true and factual to manage their lives and this article uses a tragic misunderstanding of science and archeological facts to scare those that are too lazy to even attempt an investigation. The only reason we’re still here is that some have found that education eliminates ignorance and fear.
