The Afghans consider military presence of the invaders whether it is in a greater size or a smaller, as a foreign occupation. If the Americans persist to display arrogance in this regard and do not pay attention to the demands of the Jihadic resistance and the people of Afghanistan, they would face the same aftermath as they are facing now following the decade-long occupation of Afghanistan that even they cant feel consolation and respite in Kabul despite expenditure of billions of dollars and casualties of thousands of troops. Living Hell in Tel Rumeida No doubt Hebron is one of the most hardly hit areas by the Israeli occupation, and H2 (the Old City of Hebron) is certainly the most hardcore Palestinian town in the West Bank a fact-finding visitor wont miss the chance to experience in the Occupied Territories. Unlike each other city or town, where settlements sit on the outskirts outside the city perimeter, Hebrons city centre is surrounded by four Israeli settlements within the city boundaries which makes it the only surviving town in Palestine to be under an occupation from inside. Israel has stubbornly maintained complete control over H2 imposing on the Palestinian population a regime of forced evictions, curfews, market and street closures, military checkpoints, frequent random searches and detentions without charge. As this wasnt enough, Palestinians living in Hebrons Old City suffer ongoing harassment, violence, and land theft at the hands of the settlers occupying the heart of the city and, with the support of the Israeli forces, preventing thousands of residents from living their lives normally. Pakistani officials doubt al Qaeda operative dead Pakistani security officials expressed doubt on Sunday over reports from the United States that it had killed the al Qaeda second-in-command near the Afghan border. A senior US official said on Saturday that Atiyah abd al-Rahman had been killed in the northwest tribal area of Waziristan on August 22, without divulging the circumstances of his death. However, local officials in the region told AFP last week that a US drone strike in North Waziristan on that date had killed at least four militants. It was not clear if the two incidents were connected. A senior Pakistani security official in Peshawar told AFP: We have checked this news report with informers and have worked on it. I doubt the authenticity of this news. Another security official in Miramshah, the main town in North Waziristan, said he had received no information on the killing. For me it is just a rumour. he added. The officials said the remote, mountainous area, just four kilometres from the Afghan border, is inaccessible. In such cases we rely on information sent from informers. We have not received any type of such a report, the security official in Mir Ali town, North Waziristan, told AFP. An Afghan Taliban commander in Pakistans northwestern tribal region who is in regular contact with al Qaeda described the news report as fake. It is a fake story. Its not true, he told AFP from an undisclosed location.
