Brothers and Sisters , I have been seriously considering forming a ( Christian ) grassroots type of organization to be named "The Christian National Registry of Atheists" or something similar . I mean , think about it . There are already National Registrys for convicted sex offenders , ex-convicts , terrorist cells , hate groups like the KKK , skinheads , radical Islamists , etc..

This type of "National Registry" would merely be for information purposes . To inform the public of KNOWN ( i.e., self-admitted) atheists . For example , let's say you live in Colorado Springs , Colorado , you could simply scroll down ( from the I-Net site /Blog ) I would have , to the State of Colorado , and then when you see "Colorado Springs" , you will see the names of all the self-admitted atheist(s) who live there ( e.g., if an atheist's name happened to be "Phil Small" ) . The individual's physical address , and other known personal information would NOT be disclosed ( though , perhaps a photo could be ) .

Now , many (especially the atheists ) , may ask "Why do this , what's the purpose ?" Duhhh , Mr. Atheist , for the same purpose many States put the names and photos of convicted sex offenders and other ex-felons on the I-Net - to INFORM the public ! I mean , in the City of Miramar , Florida , where I live , the population is approx. 109,000 . My family and I would sure like to know how many of those 109,000 are ADMITTED atheists ! Perhaps we may actually know some . In which case we could begin to witness to them and warn them of the dangers of atheism . Or perhaps they are radical atheists , whose hearts are as hard as Pharaoh's , in that case , if they are business owners , we would encourage all our Christian friends , as well as the various churches and their congregations NOT to patronize them as we would only be "feeding" Satan .

Frankly , I don't see why anyone would oppose this idea - including the atheists themselves ( unless of course , they're actually ashamed of their atheist religion , and would prefer to stay in the 'closet.' ) .

Anyway , my brothers and sisters , it's something I would like to get your input on , as well as any other ideas or suggestions you may have along these lines . As Christians ,we CAN make a difference if we network together in fellowship , as well as seek guidance and advice from the Holy Spirit .

Until next time , may God bless and keep you all -

Yours in Christ ; Pastor Mike

one denying the existence of GOD must also deny the existence of GOD given rights.

But it's not your place to deny them to me.

sure, keep missing the point

The point is that you are enjoined from oppressing me for my beliefs, by your own code and by civil law.

I find myself in an admittedly and necessarily hypocritical position in that while I clearly see that the degradation in religious sentiment in this country and in the West in general is collateral with the destruction of public morality an increase in corruption, I cannot subscribe to the scriptures that underpin that religion as the word of a Creator or even as a reliable historical document, whatever moral value might be found in its narratives, parables, allegories, prescriptions and proscriptions.

I also believe that you are a fine fellow, as I believe that all the Christian posters on this forum to be really fine folks – possibly the best people that this country possesses. I know and have met many fine Christians in my time, but I never cease to be stunned at how readily these people can be persuaded to suit up and venture out in the most bloody and unchristian of causes when required to do so by their betters.

That is as true of Christians today as it is of sixty generations of Europeans and Christians. The same is true of Muslims in my experience, who are more than more often than not good family people and solid citizens, but who also hold the most retrograde beliefs about history or the nature of the world we live in. Neither are they immune in many cases to the kinds of moral hypocrisies Christians are subject to.

The long and short of it is that, in my estimation, Scripture is in this sense no defense to error. While Christianity in many ways produces good citizens in general, I have seen innumerable cases of Christians who injure their families, fellows and community who attend Bible study and go to church on Sunday. There is no magic in Scripture in that regard as far as I can see. Whether or not any writings provide the path to redemption or resurrection is purely speculative other worldliness for which I have yet to see corroboration.

This is all that I have to say about religion on this forum. I really hate to speak against religion. It is not a good thing, but I felt that I had to speak my mind. You'll forgive me if I offend. None of this is meant in that sense.

it seems you think I am on-board with the register atheists crap, I'm not. my question is how can one claim GOD given rights and yet deny the existence of said GOD.
