Teamsters President Jimmy Hoffa had some profane, combative words for Republicans while warming up the crowd for President Obama in Detroit, Michigan on Monday.
"We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face: The war on workers. And you see it everywhere, it is the Tea Party. And you know, there is only one way to beat and win that war. The one thing about working people is we like a good fight. And you know what? They've got a war, they got a war with us and there's only going to be one winner. It's going to be the workers of Michigan, and America. We're going to win that war," Jimmy Hoffa Jr. said to a heavily union crowd.
"President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. Let's take these son of bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong," Hoffa added.

Dumb sob, Obama doesn't even belong in America.

We managed to get out the votes in our precinct for RP last time. I'll bet we can do it again, but the temper and level of political literacy among repubs in general being what it is, I dunno how this will resonate on the national level.
If the markets and the economy hit the skids in a major way in the coming months, maybe these folks will take fresh look at things.
I'd weigh Hoffa Jr's words against the repeated Teabagger/Republican talk about "Don't retreat, reload" and "Second Amendment remedies" and "This time we came unarmed." Not to mention the Republican refusal even to discuss gun legislation in the wake of the shooting of a Democratic representative.

The correct response is to prosecute the perp - unless of course the Congresscritter had it coming.
A really good commentary on the subject is H. Beam Piper's "Lonestar Planet".
However, some of the biggest advocates of "Gun Control" include Adolph Hitler, and Joseph Stalin. Now there's a recommendation for you. In fact the 1968 Gun Control Act paralleled exactly the legislation passed by the Nazis 30 years before.
Oh, and the other name for a citizenry forbidden to have arms is - slaves. The pogroms of Stalin's Soviet Union, and Hitler's Germany are much less possible here because the citizenry retains the ability to shoot back - as the "worthy" Congresscritter discovered. As your masters continue to tighten the noose you can expect more such spontaneous events, and I will not say they are undeserved.

I too noticed shoonra's advocation of 'gun control' in response to 1 shooting, Such an absurd suggestion seems way out of place on any freedom oriented 4um. Wow.

Shoonra can pretty much be counted on for the SPLC reaction to any given post.

lol. now, if the Rs diss Paul again, he ought to go independent. imo, there would be nothing to lose.
This is brought up every election cycle. In some and probably most states, if you lose the primary election running in a party, that's the end of your campaign and your chances. The dems and pubbies have rigged it that way. If Ron Paul doesn't get the pubbie vote as the winner in the primary, he will just be Ron Paul the ex-congressman. You have to check out YOUR own state's election rules.
To think he can then run as an independent is wishful thinking. Remember, only the dems and pubbie candidates automatically get on the ballot in all states. All other party candidates have to get a certain amount of valid voters signatures to get on the ballot. We have a system that favors the put up candidates of TPTB. And we've has some recent examples of Ron Paul being shafted by those counting the votes and those running the phony polls.
Not to mention the Republican refusal even to discuss gun legislation in the wake of the shooting of a Democratic representative.
Nor should they discuss it. What part of "shall not be infringed" is not clear to you? This same "Democratic representative" you are pissing and moaning about proved you didn't need an adequately functioning brain to be in Congress. And Obama proves the same thing all the time, that it doesn't take brains to be President. If brains were wood, his pet termite would starve.

Do those Q-tips in lawn chairs and signs that read "Smaller Government" actually send shivers through you lefties? If yes, you qualify for the "Pussy of the Year" award. I'm more inclined to believe this bag of wind Hoffa is trying desperately to fire up the pot bellied boobs wearing the union buttons and silly hats. From the pics of the crowd I saw, anyone who can touch their toes and fire a gun has nothing to fear from Hoffa's Army.
EDIT: Your gun control comment is to dopey to comment on so I'll let it annoy someone else.
LACUMO is no longer a member on this forum. I'll bet my last dollar that NYPD pension you are receiving came about by the FOP union you were a member of. Your remarks reek of hypocracy at the very least.
Shithead, I was a member of a self funded association, the PBA - Patrolman's Benevolent Association. So stick your moronic FOP comment up your ass, along with your head.
Hypocracy? Is that some form of injection based government, possibly run by aquatic porcines? :)
Perhaps you meant hypocrisy? You'd still be wrong, but at least a better speller.

Upon further review, I guess Hippocracy would be the correct term for government run by aquatic porcines. Although that would technically mean horses. Carry on.

That's what you say. Even if it is true, it is still basically a union and they bargained with the city government to get you that pension. Did they have a secret oath, sign, handshake, and did you ever use that baton on some poor defenseless wino? Probably! You didn't even have the decency to stay in NY and spend that pension money where you got it. You ran off to PA.
I'm going to check with the NY city fathers and see if you really got that pension from being a member of a secret organization the Patrolman's Benevolent Association. I still think it came from FOP union negotiations. A Benevolent Association gives out monies, usually in a lump sum, to a Patrolman's widow, children, family, a terminally ill comrade, or whatever. They don't have pension plans. I'll post on here what I find out in regards to that pension of yours; hopefully tomorrow
After your opening comment, why would anyone give a flying shit what you say?
So I'm now not a member of the FOP, but according to you an association is a union anyway? A union in terms of a unified bargaining front, but not in terms of a national presence. Understand the difference? Tell me something, if the PBA is like a union, why doesn't the PBA have a national presence along with paid leadership? It's leaders are police officers, who, BTW, receive nothing more than a patrolman's salary, and are elected by the membership to bargain as a group. Makes sense, no? And what union do you know of where it's against the law to go on strike? The Taylor Law makes it illegal for the NYPD to strike. Isn't a strike the ultimate threat a union can hold over an employer? If that doesn't exist, pray tell how is the PBA like any national union in the country?
Here, try this on for size;
An employer association operates for the benefit of its' members while a national union is part of a LARGER organization in which employees hire professional leaders (Hoffa) who in turn lobby government(s) and employers to improve employees wages, conditions and benefits. My pension is funded and owned by the PBA, not the city. Each member contributes a portion of their salary into it, and to the extent the city makes a contribution to it, that was part of a NON- UNION bargaining process. If your bitch is that a pension is attached to the NYPD & PBA via their job function, too fucking bad. It was bargained for in exchange of up front salary.
Not to mention the Republican refusal even to discuss gun legislation in the wake of the shooting of a Democratic representative.
you've gotta be sh!tting me...as if, there aren't 20k too many gun laws that don't work on the books now. in case you didn't know, criminals can and will always get guns. it's the law-abiding citizens that these ridiculous gun grabbing laws harm.
Yes you do belong to a union and our country is a union of fifty states and its territories.
It was nice of you to admit that your pension was negotiated by your association(union) and even has NY City contributions. What wasn't so nice is your shooting from the hip(lip) and calling me those filthy names. But, I forgive you in that you made them in an upset state of ignorance.
There is hardly any thing in this country that isn't union. Doctors, lawyers, judges, teachers, firefighters, policemen/women,our elected houses of government,Boy Scouts/ Girl Scouts, and eventhe secret societies like the Masons and Knights of Columbus, the UN, NATO. Oh yeah, even those of us here on forum. Only the organized labor comes under attack because of ignorance and that hatred is allowed to be taught in our schools and universities.. When I worked out of the home in a factory, our union negotiating committee did the same as your union. They sometimes forgo wages and bargained for benefits, holidays, hospitalization, vacations, etc.
