Talking about "alternative medicine" on another thread. I had a plantar wart. On the bottom of my foot. Front right. For about 5 years.
It just wouldn't go away. They don't go away.
It hurt. Every year or so I'd get the fingernail cutters out and pick away at it so it didn't hurt so much when I walked with no shoes on.
I don't like going to doctors. I don't trust them.
So I said to hell with this. It's long past the time I did something about it myself.
So I went on the internet. I googled "How to get rid of a plantar wart".
As you can imagine, there's no shortage of stuff on the internet re: how to get rid of a plantar wart.
There are numerous articles and long forum threads with countless comments by people who apparently have nothing better to do with their time than discuss plantar warts and various ideas about how to get rid of them.
I won't go into all the offered answers, but there is one that kept re-appearing.
Duct tape.
Yeah. You put duct tape on it. Hahahahaha Supposed to leave it on there for a month.
So I thought what the hell? I got duct tape. What do I have to lose? The worse that could happen is it's still there a month later.
I ripped off a square 2" x 2" and put it on there. Duct tape doesn't come off. Not in the shower. Not in bed. Not in your shoe. It just stays there right where it was put.
A week later it started to come off so I got another square to replace it. I put a drop of tea tree oil under the duct tape this time.
If you're getting bored with my story, don't worry because it's almost over.
It took a month. The last time I took the duct tape off, the plantar wart was gone. It hasn't came back. That was a few months ago.
True story.
