No mistaking the latin pop style there. The drum beat is almost identical to one used here on so much local music, but I've always found that drum beat annoying because they use pretty much the exact same one in so many different songs. For me it just sounds kinda primitive type music. That's one more great thing I like about Thalia. She has a very modern and exciting sound to her music.
It would be hard to give an opinion without knowing the Spanish language any better than I do. My honest opinion is that it was a song about gasoline, ahaha. And they found some piriguetes to help them make it to attract interest. Other than that I couldn't much figure it out. Looked like the cops were ready for a riot and the people may have been getting ready to give them one. Drug cartel going to war with the cops maybe?
Well, I don't know anything about the video, I just was curious on your opinion on the music alone, and not even the lyrics. The drum beat in this piece is extremely familiar to me as it seems they use the exact same drum beat in a lot of other songs. I'm not talking about this group using it repeatedly, I'm talking about the same beat showing up in songs made by other groups. It's like its part of this style of music and if you want to make a song of the same style, you have to use the exact same beat.
Drives me a bit batty, actually.
I didn't even watch this whole vid all the way through. This song was very popular here a few years ago and I have no idea why. I guess it's just my snobbish side coming out. Thalia does do latin style music but I've not found any music of hers which emulates this style, which is just one more reason I like her so much.
