I don't think many folks know that all of the ancient's calvery was ridden without sturrips and reigns.

Think of going into battle with Alexander or Pompey with a shield in one hand and a lance in the other.

Quite a trick.

Thought you might like this.

"The United States today is like a cruise ship on the Niagara River upstream of the most spectacular falls in North America. A few people on board have begun to pick up a slight hiss in the background, to observe a faint haze of mist in the air or on their glasses, to note that the river current seems to be running slightly faster. But no one yet seems to have realized that it is almost too late to head for shore." -- Historian and author Chalmers Johnson"

That was an amazing performance. But I was curious why she put the reins on the horse after she finished her ride. Maybe had to to take him out through the crowd or something, just seemed unusual. She proved she didn't need them, that's for sure.

it's a trap and and accident.

it's an accident that i can sing, it's an accident that i can write, it's an accident that i can (sort of) play...

so dont blame me for any of it.

i've been thinking of music as a weapon 30 or 40 years, but once you're commodified, you're a servant of the system, and you're no longer a weapon.

meanwhile, you've got to realize that "the light is awful poor" is a good song, which accounts for the activity on this thread.

according to the LA songwriters' showcase, it's the best song i wrote... this in the 70s.

so you've got to take the performance with a grain of salt, because a good song will survive almost anything.

i got to say that now i'm incapable of surviving the stress that produced that song, i refuse to participate in situations that cause that kind of stress, and i guess you could sum it up by saying i just dont give enough of a shit anymore.
