Lord love her, when she was sober and in studio, she sang like an angel; on tour and on stage, it could go really, really badly.

I mean brutally badly.

Doris Day & Buddy Clark - Confess

--

"The United States today is like a cruise ship on the Niagara River upstream of the most spectacular falls in North America. A few people on board have begun to pick up a slight hiss in the background, to observe a faint haze of mist in the air or on their glasses, to note that the river current seems to be running slightly faster. But no one yet seems to have realized that it is almost too late to head for shore." -- Historian and author Chalmers Johnson"

But, you are going to cry when you listen to this song because it is the saddest of the sad.......my ace in the hole for sad songs. Prepare for wet cheeks and grab a hanky!

Even Natalie chokes up when she sings this one......

Oh, gosh, I've never heard of that paper. Care to xerox a few pages for my collection? I used to dig the Wanderer -- guess they'd never hire a Joe Sobran today! Have also dug Catholic World Report. Dr. Fields (Thundebolt/Truth at Last) has reprinted some of Coughlin's Social Justice material. Y'all's music choices are making me feel old -- or interplanetary. But I'm glad younger people than myself are in the Cause, if only by 10-20 years. Sure don't know many personally!
