I need computer help. I am legally blind. I think someone sent me a virus I restarted my computer and am running my anti-virus software. I cannot watch YouTube videos. It goes in to a loop so I keep hearing the first few seconds. I started one video an hour ago. I cannot advance it to the end so I can hit replay. Any suggestions? I am on Windows 7.

I don't know if this will help but have you tried hitting pause to let it fully load and then play it (or try to play it)?

I recall something like that happening to me before. Have you tried clearing the cache, closing the browser, restarting the computer etc.? If I remember right that should fix it.
I'm sorry. I don't know a lot about them either. Mine crashed Saturday (Windows XP--I like Linux better but was using XP and it's a long story so I won't bore you with it). Anyway, I couldn't get it to boot into safe mode or any other mode but I had a PCLINUX0S 2010 cd here so I stuck that in the dvd drive and it booted up from that, recognized my modem and got me back online. I still hope to get someone to get into my hard drive and see if my files can be rescued cause I have stuff I don't want to lose. But if I can get my stuff I will wipe that drive and install pclos on it (they have a newer version than the one I am using and it looks good).

I'm on my way, keep the front door open.....I have an Apple ;) Win 7.....well, IT sucks. Unplug everything and then reboot. Microsoft has a pretty good anti- virus download.....no charge on their site. Comodo.com, free anti-virus not bad if u get it going again. Last RESORT: Reinstall operating system, but it will erase ALL YOUR DATA AND FILES.....APPLE ;)
Youtube is a flash player application, and it sounds like something happenned to your plugin for flash. Try uninstalling it (from the "Tools" drop down menu if using Firefox, something else if it's MSIE, and reinstalling). If that doesn't work, then I'd suggest completely uninstalling/removing firefox/MSIE itself and reinstalling that.

In the old days we had copies of a Windows CR. That was easy. But now I have trouble with restore points. My eyesight is not that good.

I have a bionic right eye, I've been researching the new telescopic lense implant, it has some promise.
On my firefox it's tools->Add ons->Plug-ins. Not options. I'm using linux though. But hunt around for "Plug-ins". Menus may differ.

I've had this happen to me more than once. It's not a virus. You need to clear your cache. If you use firefox, go to Tools, Clear Recent History, make sure "Cache" is checked, then hit the "clear now" button. It might take a few seconds to finish, depending on what else was checked and when the last time everything was cleaned. That should do it.

Perhaps the reason the video won't start playing is because you need to update your video player. Just go onto RealPlayer or whatever software you downloaded and go look on the video menu list for Updates. It worked for me.
Firefox is having issues right now, hence V7 six months after V6. Check the addons (Tools--->Addons) to see if any show grey, if they do, uninstall them, as they will not work with the new Version and can/do slow/stop Firefox. Next, def do what P says on Flash Player, along with checking to see if your java is up to date. Search Jave free download

This is a serious question. I downloaded a bad update from Adobe flash player. I will be installing Ubuntu Linux with a DVD I sent away for.

Flash is the one and only app that I use from Adobe (bloatware) company. And only 'cause I have to. Delete and reload the sucker; it'll work sooner or later.

Horse, you're giving out information on your system in drips and drabs. Put all your cards on the table: the system, the browser, the updates, etc.
The latest version Ubuntu Linux can also be downloaded and install from an USB external thumb drive

I don't think the problem is on your end. Apparently JooToob has rejiggered how their site works. The offending feature seems to be a new auto screen resolution setting. You'll see a button labeled auto at the bottom of the youtoob screen with the volume control & stuff. Click that and select your own resolution setting. I always use 240p. The netbook I use is running Windows 7 starter, and started acting up on toob a couple of days ago.
