It does cut down on the calls, but some ignore the list. For the most part they are robocalls with no one on the other end, or scammers that dont care about any dont call list. They spoof the caller ID. Most times the number shown doesn't exist.
first off I almost never have my phone on my person, second even when I do most times I don't hear it ringing, third I never answer calls from numbers I don't know, I never return missed calls to a number not in my contacts, and I never even connect to my voice mail.

I got a call about 6 months ago from a collection agency alleging that I owed $3000 on a Sears charge card that I never had. When I stated such, the gal became very rude with me. The last thing I said before I hung up was to mail me proof that I owe this debt. I have not heard from them since.
