I'm not so sure that's fake. Looks pretty real to me...
Those crazy Russians. I swear that they're almost as full of schitt as the Red Sea pedestrians. Here's "holy crap!" in spades:
First the explosion looks fake. goes straight up not out. Second the camera pans to the cars before anything happens to warrant it. So the cameraman was expecting the crash. Third, the bike would have been exploded into a million little plastic pieces but wasn't.
I recognized the track, new what it was. We have watched a few of those races. Too much fun. Won't find any Harleys there. Saw one guy cut a corner to close and clipped a wall. Ouch!
No so obviously fake, but -- whether planned or a true accident -- it cost a lot of money in ruined automobiles. And that car blowing up (with people inside?)! Anybody have any info on the provenance of this video??
Mee too. I don't know how a normal group could fake that.

Care to explain how it was done? What indications are there that it is fake, beyond your "hunch"?

That explosion looked pretty damn real to me, as well as the totality of the event, ie. the approach, the impact, the resulting motion, etc. I see no signs of CGI at all. If it had been CGI, the fire and explosion would have been the dead giveaway. Even in hollywood movies, CGI generated explosions don't look that real. These days it appears that many people refuse to believe their own eyes, thinking that EVERYTHING odd and unusual must be fake.

FF - videos play just fine here; it's images that are mysteriously blocked. OccupyWallSt. guys' website had a two-word security challenge that was blocked and I had to write them for the words. And that flame-out looked real enough to me.
