The IGN, Spain's USGS equivalent, has issued a Red Alert warning for the El Hierro volcanic region in the Canary Islands amid thousands of earthquake swarms and volcanic activity which started in early August: SPAIN’S Instituto Geográfico Nacional (IGN) confirmed on Tuesday that an underwater eruption has occurred five kilometres off the southern coastline of El Hierro, the smallest of the Canary Islands. … A Red Alert has since been issued by local authorities for the town. A notice posted on the Emergencia El Hierro website on Tuesday evening stated: “Phase pre-eruptive. It involves the initiation of a preventive evacuation. Make yourself available to the authorities.” Source: The Olive Press (Spain) For those not familiar with the volcano, it is situated off the northwest coast of Africa in the Canary Islands, an autonomous Spanish archipelago. While there is no danger to the United States from volcanic eruptions, it has been long theorized by researchers that a large enough eruption and earthquake may be capable of splitting a neighboring volcano, La Palma, in two, which would subsequently cause a land slide on a scale unprecedented in recorded human history. The result would be a massive Mega-Tsunami that would cross the Atlantic ocean, slamming into the Eastern cost of the United States, the Caribbean islands and parts of South America. While Tsunamis on this scale are incredibly rare according to researchers, a landslide in 1958 in Latuya Bay, Alaska caused a Mega Tsunami (video) whose wave was higher than the Empire State Building and washed over trees and land some 1,700 feet high above sea level. The theorized landslide in the Canary Islands would involve rock masses that far exceed the Alaskan landslides, estimated to be 10,000 times as much mass, suggesting that the resulting Tsunami would easily exceed three thousand feet (30 times bigger than the the 2004 Indian ocean Tsunami) and travel at roughly 450-500 miles per hour. The wave would slam into the Eastern seaboard with extreme force threatening over 200 million people who live in states from Florida to Maine, the north eastern Canadian coast, the Caribbeans, Brazil and Venezuela. I think this is the one I heard about a couple years ago. If it took out the eastern seaboard as described, it would pretty much end the US as a world power in a way that would convince even the most diehard hawks. I don't doubt the severity of the scenario, but just given the rarity of such enormous catastrophic events, the odds of it happening in any one lifetime have to be extremely remote.

It would take one small nuke. And don't think that the Rothschilds and their minions in Washington are not aware of it - as are the Russians and the Chinese. It would also wipe out southern england - particularly LONDON.

I think it was Nat Geo that had a program on that very possibility. In it they showed that the fault ran much further than they originally thought. I'm glad I dont live on the east coast. Good luck trying to evacuate. Interstates on the east coast in general and I-95 in particular are a real bitch during normal times. They will be the worlds larges parking lots.

There are actually two overhangs that could fall. One of them would be bad and the other catastrophic. I forget which is which without looking it up. I know the larger one of the two, were it to fall, would inundate the entire eastern seaboard and destroy quite a few nuclear plants - which would then make Fukushima look like the radium dial on a watch. People, all people, sadly mistake growing up in relatively stable geologic period as somehow being the way it will always be. The geologic, and human, record says otherwise.
it seems like all the major roads in the east are undergoing extensive repair, and they are already parking lots much of the time. i first thought it was stupid they were doing them all at the same time, and then i figured there must be some greater plan:}
