General Dynamics NASSCO, San Diego, Calif., is being awarded a $37,376,704 cost-plus-fee contract for the fitting-out availability of USS San Diego (LPD 22). Specific efforts include program management, planning, engineering, design, liaison, scheduling, labor and procurement of incidental material. This contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to $134,470,993. Work will be performed in San Diego, Calif., and is expected to be completed by December 2014. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured via the Federal Business Opportunities website, with two offers received. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (N00024-12-C-2400).
