Image: YouTube After suffering being struck by a projectile at Tuesday's Occupy Oakland evictions, Iraq war veteran Scott Olsen is lucid and awaiting brain surgery.

The Guardian reports Olsen "responded with a very large smile" when his parents arrived from Wisconsin to visit him at the hospital. Medical officials say Olsen's able to write and hear, but is having trouble speaking.

Meanwhile, Oakland's Mayor Jean Quan who left town after authorizing the raid, has separated herself from the police. Quan said, "I only asked the chief to do one thing: to do it when it was the safest for both the police and the demonstrators."

Her interim police chief then denied his men had used rubber bullets or flashbang grenades. His goal he said, "... isn't to cause injury to anyone."

In response to the police tactics, OccupyMARINES has issued a formal list of requests in Oakland. Whether these requests are pursued or met should be an indicator of how strong or extensive this branch of the movement has become.

Additionally, Many Other Police Departments Nationwide Deploy Similar Riot Tactics Against Demonstrators Honoring The OWS 8, A Peaceful Declaration Of Assembly; We Will Organize Peacefully Against These Departments.

In Response To The Oakland Shooting Of Scott Olsen OccupyMARINES Request The Following:

The GOP Cowards Responsible For Influencing This Event Be Brought To Justice. Track Names And Photos Of Each And Email Them To Us Identify The 300 OPD Riot Officers By Name, Photo, And Badge Number With Boots On The Ground Engaging In Illegal Excessive Force Acts Against Peaceful Americans For Prosecution. Identify The Officer Responsible For Harming Scott Olsen By Name And Photo For Prosecution. The Honorable Resignation Of Oakland Mayor Jean Quan And Acting Police Chief Howard Jordan. A Public Apology From California Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. For The Unlawful Injury Of Our Brother Scott Olsen.

We Fully Intend To Make An Example, Legally And Peacefully, Of The Corwards Associated With Harming An American Veteran. We Will Not Stop Until Our Aforementioned Demands Are Met In Their Entirety.

Otherwise, this event is tragic for the ex-marine but works to the good of our society if the Marines begin to see that they too are serving evil and should remain poised to protect the people regardless of orders from above.

that was my thought. what are they going to do when they find out it was Ds not Rs? Why the assumption it was Rs? I suddenly feel like I haven't been following this story closely enough.

End run around the media that has caged us all in their fairy tales.

Make do doubt about it, this was a deliberate attack designed to maximize disabling injuries to the greatest number of people possible. It is NOT a random rogue action by an officer acting in the heat of the moment as the Oakland Police department is attempting to characterize it. It is NOT a tactic suited to civilian crowd control and outright contraindicted according the Geneva Conventions against war crimes, as correctly noted within the posting, This is an illegal tactic even under wartime battlefield conditions. The United States et al. and it's constituents are a signator of this international law.

What you see in the video is a highly formalized tactic that is designed specifically for a war-time battle field. It is standardized training for all branches of military despite it's outlawed status and has a specific goal and clear objective:

* First, to create a disabling injury among one or a few battlefield combatants.

* Next to draw in others in larger numbers to assist and evacuate the wounded.

* To attract a high-priority target for elimination, specifically battlefield medics.

The rational:

To leverage the number of casualties and deaths by eliminating the ability for combatants to achieve recovery by resucitation, treatment of injuries or otherwise rehabilitated enough to return to battle. That means destroying medics, RNs, doctors or others that come to help the wounded. This ensures that other wounded recieve no assistance and serves to guarantee the effectiveness and success of an attack by way of:

INTENTIONALLY INFLICITING DISABLING INJURIES OR DEATH TO KEY TACTICAL TARGETS WITH FURTHER OBJECTIVE TO LEVERAGE THE NUMBER OF INCAPACITATING INJURIES TO THE GREATEST EXTENT POSSIBLE.

What happens next is to make the remaining combatants become easy pickings for destruction as they are bogged down by rescue efforts. What Oakland Police did was in the purest sense and by definition of International Conventions a premeditated act akin to war as the tactic is formalized to that exact purpose. What has occurred is the clearest indication of how civilian policing has tranformed into a offensive based militaristic organization in direct violation of the Constitution of the United States.

The officer involved currently has a $1000 reward outstanding to secure his identification. There should be gathering around the idea of soliciting a much higher reward to ensure he is brought to justice under the jurisdiction of the (ICC) International Criminal Court. Carrying with it implicit promise, all other such illegal actions under the color of authority will also meet swift and sure punishment equal to a international war crime.

I expect the City of Oakland to stonewall on the identification of the Pig who did this. What I suspect, but cannot prove, is that he was not Oakland PD but a specially trained Fed who had been slipped in to provoke an "incident". What it appears to be from the circumstances and actions is the attempt to throw a "lit match" onto a pool of gasoline. The attack on the Marine was, I believe, a premeditated attempt to create a riot and it backfired.

Now the Mayor is acting scared, there was already a recall petition circulating, and the "Good Mayor" is under pressure from above to stay shut up "or else".

This incident is going to bring down big thunder on the city of Oakland and holds the potential to unmask the fact that Feds are being inserted into these type of civil situations to escalate them to a level that then justifies a police clampdown and abuse, in the eyes of the Sheeple, as a response to "out of control" rioters.

I have seen this pattern before. In Portland, during the anti-Iraq War demonstrations in 2003, there was an incident that drew attention but was papered over and nothing ever came of it. What occurred was black clad Pigs advancing on otherwise peaceful demonstrators inflicted the maximum amount of pain possible - in one instance Pepper Spraying a young father holding his toddler daughter and simply trying to get out of the vicinity and the Pig Pepper Sprayed them both in the face as they tried to flea the scene.

These are all Psychological Operations aimed at inciting, creating, a desired response. Have no doubt but that these tactics were created at some Psychiatric Think Tank whether at Tavistock, CIA, or Mossad.
