The Guardian reports Olsen "responded with a very large smile" when his parents arrived from Wisconsin to visit him at the hospital. Medical officials say Olsen's able to write and hear, but is having trouble speaking. Meanwhile, Oakland's Mayor Jean Quan who left town after authorizing the raid, has separated herself from the police. Quan said, "I only asked the chief to do one thing: to do it when it was the safest for both the police and the demonstrators." Her interim police chief then denied his men had used rubber bullets or flashbang grenades. His goal he said, "... isn't to cause injury to anyone." In response to the police tactics, OccupyMARINES has issued a formal list of requests in Oakland. Whether these requests are pursued or met should be an indicator of how strong or extensive this branch of the movement has become. videopro videopro's picture Make do doubt about it, this was a deliberate attack designed to maximize disabling injuries to the greatest number of people possible. It is NOT a random rogue action by an officer acting in the heat of the moment as the Oakland Police department is attempting to characterize it. It is NOT a tactic suited to civilian crowd control and outright contraindicted according the Geneva Conventions against war crimes, as correctly noted within the posting, This is an illegal tactic even under wartime battlefield conditions. The United States et al. and it's constituents are a signator of this international law. What you see in the video is a highly formalized tactic that is designed specifically for a war-time battle field. It is standardized training for all branches of military despite it's outlawed status and has a specific goal and clear objective: * First, to create a disabling injury among one or a few battlefield combatants. * Next to draw in others in larger numbers to assist and evacuate the wounded. * To attract a high-priority target for elimination, specifically battlefield medics. The rational: To leverage the number of casualties and deaths by eliminating the ability for combatants to achieve recovery by resucitation, treatment of injuries or otherwise rehabilitated enough to return to battle. That means destroying medics, RNs, doctors or others that come to help the wounded. This ensures that other wounded recieve no assistance and serves to guarantee the effectiveness and success of an attack by way of: INTENTIONALLY INFLICITING DISABLING INJURIES OR DEATH TO KEY TACTICAL TARGETS WITH FURTHER OBJECTIVE TO LEVERAGE THE NUMBER OF INCAPACITATING INJURIES TO THE GREATEST EXTENT POSSIBLE. What happens next is to make the remaining combatants become easy pickings for destruction as they are bogged down by rescue efforts. What Oakland Police did was in the purest sense and by definition of International Conventions a premeditated act akin to war as the tactic is formalized to that exact purpose. What has occurred is the clearest indication of how civilian policing has tranformed into a offensive based militaristic organization in direct violation of the Constitution of the United States. The officer involved currently has a $1000 reward outstanding to secure his identification. There should be gathering around the idea of soliciting a much higher reward to ensure he is brought to justice under the jurisdiction of the (ICC) International Criminal Court. What I suspect, but cannot prove, is that he was not Oakland PD but a specially trained Fed who had been slipped in to provoke an "incident". What it appears to be from the circumstances and actions is the attempt to throw a "lit match" onto a pool of gasoline. The attack on the Marine was, I believe, a premeditated attempt to create a riot and it backfired. Thanks for the data. At this point I am watching the situation and still sifting. There are too many variables and there is more here than meets the eye. I expect that there will be a lot of planted disinformation, but sifting out what is fact and what is planted requires more data so that I can make comparisons against data of comparable magnitude. I still lean toward the hypothesis that the initial "Occupy Wall Street" was a set up PsyOp, but that the controlling Psychs running the operation did not expect it to explode in quite the way it did and it has unnerved their masters. They failed to take into account "The Butterfly Effect" i.e., that in a chaotic nonlinear system which has gone out of equilibrium, or been forced out of equilibrium, it will react in unpredictable ways. Another element still developing is the response of veterans to the brutal attempted murder of Scott Olsen. OWS is NOT a homogeneous mix of different shades of left - which I think was the original intent. Instead we have a spectrum of anarchist left to libertarian right and focus is slowly shifting from simply the lure i.e., Wall Street, to the real nexus which is the central banksters. Still evolving and developing. Of course the truth that still may not speak its name is that the "1%" is not a homogeneous group either and that the key players creating hell on earth have names like Greedspan, Kissinger, Benancke, Rothschild, Warburg, Kuhn, Loeb, etc., .... The self-appointed elite vermin seem to have no problem now fomenting chaos just to see what opportunities will occur to their advantage. I think you are on to something there. Although as Psychotics one of their weaknesses is that they cannot, literally, conceive of being wrong - even when they are deadly wrong. It goes with the psychotic territory. However, I think that it is beginning to sink in that "all is not well in Toonerville". As a result they have tried, either through fear or hubris or both, to speed up their enslavement regimen, and as I predicted about 5 years ago that doing so would be their undoing. They, the psychotic Bankster/Psych elite, sought to impose their will and their grip on all of humanity, but the basic weakness is that they could only do it by remaining covert and hidden. They are no longer quite as well hidden, thanks no small part to the Internet and lots of brave people speaking the truth, and with their cover gone they are increasingly exposed. So, we are still in a race between awareness and their already extensive grip.

Ditto. That concerns me as well, which is why open violence is not a viable solution. Rather than release their grip on power they would literally destroy the planet and kill every man woman and child. Most people do not really get "in their bones" how truly insane these monsters are. Most people will not even look as they do not have the necessary confront - so they throw up a cloud of unknowingness and retreat into their cocoon of Faux Nooze and CNN. It is like my German Aunt who survived the horrors in Germany and married an American Soldier - everything was always "happy, happy", and avoid confronting the true horror of it all. Another part of our suppressed history is the five to eight million Germans who were slowly murdered, mainly by forced starvation, by the "Noble" Allies following WWII. However, the current crop of monsters do have to be handled and neutralized carefully by exposure and slowly prying their fingers loose from the buttons that could kill us all. It is like disarming the fuse on a bomb. We can't delay but we cannot act too quickly or make a wrong move. They truly are criminally insane, and people need to get that.
It must be tried and, of course, preferable to any violence, but, I believe we are on the verge of seeing millions of people unwilling to bet their very survival on being able to talk down the psychopaths.
There is only one way to "neutralize" and this is to end the secrecy that is destroying this nation and beyond. This is the only way to pry the fingers loose and it is more akin to ripping off the bandage of a festering wound than a careful and slow event, IMHO.
yup, end the secrecy... you could start by refuting the exxon/AEI/CERA bullshit denials of the prime motives to stage 9/11... those motives being, of course, peak oil and global warming. once everyone realizes how bad peak oil threatens the israeli american empire, the rest will fall into place. israel must be secured from sea level rise (by grabbing high ground in the west bank) before america goes tits up from peak oil... so long as there's such a massively-funded effort by the deniers, there's no chance of ripping the veil of secrecy off this operation.

Since the 70's the dollar has been propped up by petrol dollar hegemony....which was never "stable" in any sense of the word. But, it did work to keep the masses focused on the consumer society......which also isn't "stable" in any way. What is not "stable" will pass away and it must be so. In the end, people will never again seek material wealth over awareness and spiritual wealth. The mechanism is greater than your small world view, IMHO.
