Japan Times: It is now a “grave situation” at Fukushima — “Plutonium fission” mentioned for first time — “Criticality is very likely to have occurred”

Nov. 3, 8:30 pm ET (Emphasis Added) — A report published at 8:30 pm ET by the Japan Times calls on Tepco and the Japan gov’t to “find out true reactor conditions” at Fukushima.

Tepco announced Wednesday that, according to the Times, “There is the possibility that criticality, a sustained nuclear chain reaction, had occurred ‘temporarily’ and ‘locally’ in the No. 2 reactor.”

During it’s testing, Tepco has detected xenon-133 and -135, “Products of uranium or plutonium fission.”

The half life of xenon-135 is about 9 hours, therefore, “Criticality is very likely to have occurred just before the gases were analyzed,” reports the Times.

“Clearly the reactor has not yet been stabilized,” and, according to the Times, “The fact that Tepco cannot deny the possibility of criticality irrespective of its scale is a grave situation.”

And the article notes, “Conditions are similar in the Nos. 1, 2 and 3 reactors.”

Now is the time to get “serious” writes The Times:

“Tepco should make serious efforts to accurately grasp the conditions of nuclear fuel inside the reactors.” “Tepco and the Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency should take a serious view of the fact that radioactive xenon pointing to criticality was detected from the No. 2 reactor. What happened in it can happen in the Nos. 1 and 3 reactors.”

Lod, This is bigger than many realize. If 20 feet of concrete could have been possible to contain , the japanese could have delivered it by choppers two tons at a time.

An extreame disaster ignored by the pathetic MSM who keep big butt kadasian failed wedding in our faces.

If it's still reacting, then would dumping concrete on it do sufficient good? I think the optimal think by far is to first quench the thing and then dump the concrete on it. Maybe everything within 10 k's of it should be covered too, though. If the cover up an active reaction, it may well be that the concrete would break down in a short amount of time.

That is why they can't pour concrete on it until they have stabilized it. They would have already done it by now if they could have. They have had the equipment for months to cover it in concrete, but unfortunately they can't yet.

God is always good!

Last I heard on enenews.com was that Japan was bring in huge amounts of boron into the concrete to absorb the radiation.

While this is just now getting out - there was evidence of fission events at least 2 months ago if not longer. There were reports of "blue beams" emanating from the ruins. The blue beams were neutrons and they are the product of fission events.

Another thing that has been deeply buried and not carried in the lamestream newz is that the Japanese government appears to have had a top secret bomb lab at Fukushima - which accounts for all of the Plutonium being found. When the lab blew the Plutonium was splattered all over the place.

It's pretty easy to imagine that Japan wishes this was simply a runaway oil well dumping 50 times what gush out in the Gulf of Mexico. Crude oil half life is far, far less than some of the nuclear crap is.

Yes, different disaster same response - bury it, don't report on it, and watch it kill off a whole bunch more useless eaters.

I would go deeper than that. you had two forms of cheap energy making a resurgence. You had credible calls for more drilling and use of nuclear power. Suddenly you have major disasters in both industries within a short period of time. Now all that is left is subsidized green energy, high prices and huge profits.

Possibly. They are that Machiavellian. However, I am more inclined to connect it to mass depopulation, although, they do like to do more than one evil with their devilish programs.

I do agree that they do want to keep energy production throttled down so as to prevent the springing up of activities that go counter to the Great Hive that they are trying to build. Energy is key to industrial society and much of what we do, such as individual mobility, requires some form of energy. That is why inventors of practical alternative energy systems have so many "accidents" and suffer such "short" lifespans.

Politicians dare not. They would be defeated. Editors dare not. They would lose subscribers. Merchants dare not, because they might lose customers. Men of fashion dare not, fearing that they would lose caste. Even clerks dare not, because they might be discharged. And so I thought I would do it myself... Robert Ingersoll
