Thanks all, much appreciated!! I've been gone for a bit, only to return to State College, or should I say Sodom and Gomorrah?

PS: Anyone wanna buy a few dozen State Penn T-shirts and/or hoodies?

Yes, make sure you don't drop the soap at the local gym.

No State Pen orange jumpers? It could be all the rage. [Disclaimer: Non "The U" related]

Has Sandusky received a visit yet from the local Cardinal?

As a fan, look at the silver lining, at least you'll have a new head-coach at PSU next season.

LOL

What a freakin' disgrace.

This is what happens when egg head academics are placed in charge of ANYTHING. The judgement displayed *by the president of the University, on down to Paterno* is the *worst* I've ever encountered on any level in my lifetime. Frankly, the media can't hit this place hard enough, and that same sentiment comes from two of my kids, who are PSU grads. If President Spanier isn't gone by weeks end, the town folk, including me, will grab our pitchforks.

And YES! finally a new coach, despite the g'awful way this is ending.

No more three yards in a cloud of dust football?

Of course I'm keeping a low football profile since the Beavers are having their worst season since 1996. Putting Katz in the number one spot at QB last year and then losing a Heisman grade running back to the pros killed their offense, and the defense has been, at best, so-so. Only Wisconsin blew them out but otherwise they are a day late and five dollars short.

Texas, for a change, did very well using their ground attack last Saturday.

So I noticed. Despite a shaky start they seem to be building a head of steam.

New coaches, new system, new players; it's little wonder that OU and OSU rolled them.

We'll see how they fare against MO this Saturday.

At this point I'll just be happy to see the agony of the season over. What a difference 2 years makes. Two years ago they were contending for the Rose Bowl up until the final game when Oregon beat them. This year I am just hoping for at least one more win.

I'm glad that I'm no longer glued to the tellie.

Bits and pieces of local sports-talk radio is where I get my sports' updates.

I don't watch the telly either. The only functioning telly I have is a 27 inch Samsung with a non-digital tuner that I use exclusively for watching movies - and not many of those. However, I will follow the games on ESPN's website since they will update the play by play and scores throughout the game. In the unlikely, this year, event the Beavers make it to a Bowl there are several sport's pubs with big big screens nearby.

Our 27" Toshiba (tube-type) went tits-up earlier this year.

I soon learned that we needed flat-screen tellie as well as the furniture to accommodate same.

1.5K later, Mrs.L is happy with her TWCable programming, and I love their internet connection speed.
