I hate these long winded articles.

We are not allowed to make a decision as mundane as what kind of lightbulb we're going to use anymore, but we're allowed to choose who runs the city, state, and fedgoob? Give me a break. - Esso

Good riddance to Paterno, his whole career was ruined and forever tarnished by his greed for fame and glory at the cost of molested children. What a monster, he's almost as evil as the pedophile who did the dirty deeds.

Wall Street Journal

STATE COLLEGE, Pa.—In just five days, Pennsylvania State University, one of the largest public universities in the U.S., has been knocked off its axis by a child sex-abuse scandal that Wednesday claimed its longtime president and its iconic football coach, Joe Paterno.

After an emergency meeting Wednesday evening, the school's Board of Trustees announced it had dismissed Mr. Paterno, the nation's winningest and longest- tenured major-college football coach, and decided Graham Spanier, the school's president for the past 16 years, should step down.

The actions followed the indictment over the weekend of a long-time Paterno assistant coach on charges of child sex abuse over a 15-year period. "We felt we need to restore trust in the university," said John Surma, the board's vice president.

The board named Rodney A. Erickson, executive vice president and provost, as the university's interim president. Defensive coordinator Tom Bradley was named interim coach.

"I am heartbroken to think that any child may have been hurt," Mr. Spanier said in a release. "The buck stops here."

Mr. Surma said he called Mr. Paterno at home Wednesday to deliver the news. He said the board's vote was unanimous.

Students who gathered at Mr. Paterno's home late Wednesday said he came out and wanted to talk only to students—not reporters.

"He said he's not the coach anymore, and there's nothing he can do about it," said John Paul Nicola, 19. "He said it's big news to him right now, he had stuff to think about, and he'll have stuff to say tomorrow."

Elsewhere, hundreds of students gathered at the HUB-Robeson Center, the student union, to watch the trustees' news conference on a big screen. When the announcement came that Mr. Paterno would not coach again at Penn State, students gasped.

“With the exception of Whites, the rule among the peoples of the world, whether residing in their homelands or settled in Western democracies, is ethnocentrism and moral particularism: they stick together and good means what is good for their ethnic group."
