"This was actually a send-up of East Coast folk music (best personified by James Taylor). About my first live-in girlfriend who had split while I was on the road. We lived in a little farmhouse 25 miles outside of Nashville and had to pretend to be married to appease the landlord." (Dan Fogelberg)
"Old Tennessee" was written when I lived on a farm outside of Nashville, as a parody of east coast folk music. It was written about a young lady I briefly cohabited with, and her subsequent departure. (Dan Fogelberg 6/11/97).
