Few historical events have received more attention or been more carefully reenacted than the assassination of President Kennedy.

Yet as the country approaches the 48th anniversary of that tragic day in Dallas, a team of historians and retired Secret Service officers claims to have used new technology on old evidence to solidify the judgment that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone.

The NatGeo channel will air the new tests as part of a one-hour documentary this Sunday night called "JFK: The Lost Bullet."

Historian Max Holland led the team that applied digital technology to a number of home movies taken on Nov. 22, 1963, including the famous Zapruder film.

Holland told Fox News this marks the first time these disparate amateur films, some of which have not been seen in years, have been brought together, digitally enhanced and presented in a coherent way.

"I'd say a main thrust of it is to break the stranglehold that the Zapruder film has on our perception of what happened. In a sense, we've all been 'Zaprudered,'" he said. "The film was so graphic, disturbing, mesmerizing, that it became more of our perspective on the assassination than even the perspective of the assassin, which should never have happened."

Another startling claim of the NatGeo team is that the new digital upgrades allow the public to see, in the amateur footage taken that day by Robert Hughes, a shadowy figure moving about inside the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository building -- a figure believed to be Oswald.

"And our conclusion is that he fired three shots in about 11 seconds, which is almost double, you know, the six seconds in Dallas meme that most people know when they think about the assassination: six seconds, three shots in six seconds. We say three shots in 11 seconds, which is a much easier -- for I'd say, someone of Oswald's skill -- effortless task," Holland said.

When asked if there are any "holy grails" of JFK assassination research still out there -- pieces of evidence known by researchers to exist but which have not yet seen the light of day -- Holland cited Oswald's tax returns. Those returns have never been released.

Holland said it's easier to pry documents from the CIA than from the IRS.

The JFK special airs Sunday at 9 p.m. ET. NatGeo is partly owned by the same parent company as Fox News.

I'm trying to imagine the mullet who takes the day off from work, gathers his camera to join the crowd to see the parade, and then films an old building instead of the motorcade.

Highly suspect, imo.

I'm not buying that one either Loddy......

It's all coincidence like a handful of dancing Israelis filming 911. Nothing to see here Looky Lous.

Yeah, suure he did.

And after moving to the USSR and marrying the niece of a KGB Colonel and practicing with a rifle (something few Russians were permitted to do) he came back to the US with no bureaucratic resistance at all.

He did that alone, too. And, no one even asked him if he divulged any secret info from his job in the USMC. He convinced the FBI and the ONI without saying a word that he was not a security risk. And he did that all alone, too.

Yep. I know daz rat. A common thing back in the day with the cold war and all. Everyone just trusted anyone who had made trips to the Soviet Union and then came back, knowing they were no risk. He didn't have any help, no siree! Of course he wasn't anything but a patsy anyway and probably didn't have any more to do with killing Kennedy than you or I did.

NatGeo has some good stuff but I won't be wasting an hour that I will never get back watching what is obviously pro-government propaganda.

american history has become a peculiar thing, especially since 9/11...

but maybe, if you're following a script written before the historical event happens, you dont have to do all that drudgery, sifting through the documents, trying to figure out what most likely happened.

once in a while we still get a slipup, like when something unexpected, unscripted, happens... like maybe when some loonytune deathwish christian plinks at the white house... it took a day to obliterate the fact that he had "israel" tattooed on his neck.

and our history system is so sophisticated now (much more sophisticated that the old soviet method of mailing out pages to replace what-have-become politically incorrect pages in the encyclopedia) that neocons, who are writing the script, have declared "the end of history"... "the end of history" is starting to make more sense, now, isnt it?

too bad we still have to go back a few decades and do more "research" to bolster history that was written before the scriptwriters were writing the script and history at the same time.

is there one moment in american history when america changed from being america to being israeli america?

I wish I could write knowledgeably on the subject.

I'd be willing to wager that you already have a better answer than me.

Ben Franklin supposedly warned us that if we didn't bar them from immigrating in 200 years we'd all be working for ol Mr. Yehudi. It happened so gradually as I griped about "them damned Heebs" that I'm inclined to think that it was a steady, progressive effort, like water wearing down sandstone.

In 1934 "the most free people in the world" couldn't own gold. And at the end of WWII we shipped some 200 million troy ounces to "England". (Which is to say, to the counting houses of infantile, fanatical Rothschilds who no doubt rolled around in their windfall, courtesy of their slaves who never suspected that they were free roaming chattel of a "foreign power."

Johnson surrendered when the USS Liberty was attacked, probably because they had ol' "Landslide Lyndon" by his past the same way they had Spiro Agnew. Nixon was wise to them but he still gave the obligatory allegiance in televised speeches.

Jimmy Carter wrote that the main obstruction to peace at Camp David was Menachem Begin, and later his book of truth, "Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid" was as warmly received as "The Israel Lobby" by John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt.

And, Clinton appointed bus loads of non Christians to positions of power.

So, for as long as I can remember there was no such thing as a legitimate critic of Israel. And then one day I woke up and some truly diabolical men (Dov S. Zakheim, Michael Chertoff) were leering at me through my TV, and it was as if they dared the president who appointed them to call them on their service to Israel.

You ask an interesting question; "is there one moment in american history when america changed from being america to being israeli america?"

I'd like to invite all opinions and answers, especially yours. As we teeter on the brink of wiping with corncobs and drinking polluted water thanks to "a large group of non Christians in New York City" (thank you David Duke) it could be an interesting discussion.

if eisenhower was the last president to successfully defy israel...

if kennedy tried to defy israel, but was eliminated...

if subsequent presidents have made token efforts to resist israel, and failed...

where was the turning point?

Of course he wasn't anything but a patsy anyway and probably didn't have any more to do with killing Kennedy than you or I did.

And there you have it.

He was profiled and selected to join the players on the stage, and when he got nervous and started to suspect that he wasn't a "key operative-agent 008" he said "I didn't kill anybody, I'm a patsy".

And then another short-sighted patriot patsy, Jack Ruby was called upon to silence Oswald forever. As he sat in prison and called for the Chief Justice Of The United States to hear his confession he never suspected that Earl Warren was the head chef whose recipe (gently stirred over a low flame by Gerald Ford) would forever seal Ruby's lips, and the truth that he could "never tell (in Dallas)" would never be recorded due to a fast moving and mysterious cancer that took his life.

So, when the people who write the history books decide your fate there's not a lot anyone can do about it.

summing up...

israel, from its beginning, was determined to acquire nuke weapons to ensure that something that never happened in the first place, never happened again...

Israel began actively investigating the nuclear option from its earliest days. In 1949, HEMED GIMMEL a special unit of the IDF's Science Corps, began a two-year geological survey of the Negev desert with an eye toward the discovery of uranium reserves...

...The program took another step forward with the creation of the Israel Atomic Energy Commission (IAEC) in 1952. Its chairman, Ernst David Bergmann, had long advocated an Israeli bomb as the best way to ensure "that we shall never again be led as lambs to the slaughter."

Nuclear Weapons israel FAS

kennedy became committed to nuke non-proliferation as his confidence grew... he started to pressure ben gurion to allow inspections of the dimona nuke plant, which was...

..."a textile plant, an agricultural station, and a metallurgical research facility, until David Ben-Gurion stated in December 1960 that Dimona complex was a nuclear research center built for "peaceful purposes."...

There followed two decades in which the United States, through a combination of benign neglect, erroneous analysis, and successful Israeli deception, failed to discern first the details of Israel's nuclear program.

As early as 8 December 1960, the CIA issued a report outlining Dimona's implications for nuclear proliferation, and the CIA station in Tel Aviv had determined by the mid-1960s that the Israeli nuclear weapons program was an established and irreversible fact.

United States inspectors visited Dimona seven times during the 1960s, but they were unable to obtain an accurate picture of the activities carried out there, largely due to tight Israeli control over the timing and agenda of the visits. The Israelis went so far as to install false control room panels and to brick over elevators and hallways that accessed certain areas of the facility.

ibid

kennedy insisted on inspections, ben gurion tapdanced until kennedy was eliminated.

kennedy's successor, LBJ, turned a blind eye to israel's nuke weapons program, and covered up israel's attack on the USS Liberty.

it's been downhill since.

Just as the 911 story has morphed over time from burning jet fuel to collapse gremlins or whatever preposterous line is being sold this week the Shadow Government keeps trying to come up with some means of proving that Lee Harvey Oswald had a majick rifle. Since a number of expert shooters have time and again pointed out that it was impossible to do what was claimed with a bolt action Carcano, which magically replaced the Mauser that was reported by one of the first Detectives to visit the sniper's nest in the Book Depository (who was a WWII Vet who had served in Europe and knew the difference between a Mauser and a Carcano).

Also the story line of three shots has to be reinforced (when there were at least 5 based on both eyewitness accounts and acoustic analysis of the available audio).

I think this is just another attempt sell a load of horse sh!t and polish it up real pretty like.

After several phone chats with Gunnery Sgt. Carlos Hathcock I finally felt comfy enough to pop the question:

"Gunny, did Oswald fire three shots in six seconds at the Kennedy motorcade?"

"The FBI asked me the same question.", he replied. "I set up the simulation and fired Oswald's rifle, and it couldn't be done!", he said.

Hathcock won the Wimbledon 1,000 yd championship in 1965, and his official count in Vietnam was 93 enemy killed. (his actual score was over 300)

I respectfully submit that if Gny Hathcock couldn't do it then Oswald couldn't do it.

The US Marine Corps took the unprecedented step of naming an award after a living person, and in each graduating scout sniper class at Quantico one outstanding marine receives The Carlos Hathcock Award.

Carlos is gone now but he told me (on the phone) that his one wish was to make the presentation to a marine before he died (he was ravaged by MS) but regrettably the corps never invited him to do so. I and many others sent letters to the Commandant Of The Marine Corps on Carlos' behalf but Hathcock's wish was not to be. Which of course confirmed my belief that with the exception of "mustang marines" (officers who came up through the non commissioned ranks) Pentagon brass suck.

I was a long range rifle shooter in the CA-AZ deserts back then, and my rifle, a .243 WIN caliber (a necked down .308 case to shoot 6 mm instead of 7.62 mm bullets) was a Remington Varmint Special, a civilian version of the M-40A1.

Hatchcock achieved his fame with pre-'64 Model 70 Winchester rifles in .30-06 caliber. And he said that in his opinion the best long range rifle is the .300 Winchester Magnum, which is the caliber he used to claim victory at Wimbledon.

My old man was a Scout-Sniper in South Pacific - and the best shot I've ever known. If your friend the Gunny couldn't do it, then it can't be done. That is why they are now going to try prove that Oswald had "11 seconds" because too many experts are on record saying that 3 rounds off of that Carcano in six seconds and actually hit a moving target is preposterous. I believe it was Covert Action Quarterly that tied National Geo to the CIA years ago. Every few years the PTB seem to try another angle to prove that a square peg fits in a round hole.

Kennedy was a POS.

Oswald was a POS loser who who was eaten up with envy of Kennedy.

That's why he killed him. One POS killing another, so Oswald could make himself famous.
