"In a conference call this morning, Herman Cain told his senior staff that he is 'reassessing' whether to remain in the race," reports National Review's Robert Costa. Costa added that Cain told his staff in a conference call that hell make his final decision 'over the next several days.'" The report is being confirmed by ABC's Jonathan Karl who tweeted, "Mark Block tells [Amy Walter, ABC's Political News Director] the NRO report is true. Cain told staff today he is "reassessing" whether to stay in the race."
Speaking of Eddie Murphy, I worked for his uncle, Hank Murphy, in the Brooklyn North Youth Gang Task Force in the early 70s. He was one solid dude who cared about the decent folks in that 'hood who were then being terrorized by assorted s'bags. I SO RECALL him telling us about how funny his little nephew Eddie was.
On to Cain. With all his baggage, WTF was he thinking?????

Not many brain cells in the little head. He should of used the other one to manage his love life.
He's feeling the pressure to call it a day now that many movers and shakers in the party are ringing alarm bells about this. He should have plenty of time to work on his relationship with the old anchor.
He has been an interesting candidate, but his lack of grass roots organizing in key states shows his campaign orbited his sense of hubris, much as he personally orbits his mentors and key supporters, the Koch brothers. He probably has too many 'yes' men and women in his campaign who are more interested in keeping him happy then in doing the drudgery of building a campaign correctly at the grass roots level.
I have always felt he was an excite and stimulate the troops candidate as much as anything, so the coming 'no we Cain't' moment the GOP is going to have soon is no surprise.
