We are creating an underclass of citizens or rather non-citizens with lesser rights. Many work in prison factories for much less than minimum wage, so vast sums of money are being made off inprisonment. It would not be happening if not for the money flow.

Last sping my stepson was in prison(for being grossly stupid. If, he had grown up in the 70s like me, the idiot would have been able to spot a narc). The prison phone system was a real trip. It is nationwide and you must set up an account and feed money into it by credit card. Each phone call costs $10 bucks or more and the little Momma's baby(used to unlimited texting with a cell phone grafted to his hand) called all day, everyday to whine or to have Paddles pass messages to his current fiancee. He had to go to bed at 9PM and get up at 6AM, but the XBOX 360 addict was used to the reverse, he cannot even make it to college classes earlier than 3PM. Anyway, he ran up a $500 phone bill in 5 days and was SHOCKED when we cut him off. Poor BooBoo. He's only 26, how can you expect him to go 5 minutes w/o a phone call.

Sorry, I got off subject, but you have to pay for everything in the prison system at extortion rates, even visitation. It's a racket!
