I was listening to George Noori's show last night (Coast to Coast) and someone said she thought Fitzgerald had been involved in some cover up in the past. I have no idea if it's true, or any details - has anyone else heard of this? I'm really saddened that Rove has not been indicted at this point and that maybe this investigation won't go far enough. Maybe I'm jumping the gun but I'm wondering what's up with Fitzgerald. Is he on the level?

Don't be. There's not much material to work into a case against Rove. Cheney is a much better target and all it takes is getting scooter to sing.

By the way, I think Wilson is an arrogant gas bag who talks way too much and his comment about Rove being frog-marched out of the WH was particularly stupid considering he had no evidence to back up that remark. OTOH, if Wilson had evidence about Rove, then who did it come from?

I agree with you here, I have not been impressed by what I've seen of Wilson. He should have been more discreet in his comments. I hope the Fitzgerald train keeps on rolling, but I can't help but be suspicious. As for Libby, unless he's threatened with a really long sentence in Federal "pound me in the ass" prison, he might fall on his sword knowing that his future is always assured with some Halliburton subsidiary. Kind of like Frank Pentangeli in the Godfather....

Fitzgerald. Is he on the level?

Yeah, I think he is "on the level" as you are going to get in the DC circle.

One thing, he doesn't want to bring any indictments that will fail...I think all prosecutors are like that, they always fall on the prudent side.

Secondly, he is dealing with some really slippery bastards, so the going, as far as getting indictable info, has prolly been pretty rough.

An indictment of Libby and keeping Rove(r) under a cloud, should be enough to keep lil georgie's panties in a wad.

Yes, I think I was getting too excited about Fitzmas. I was having visions of orange jumpsuit wearing neo-cons dancing in my head. The image of the Bush WH crumbling into a steaming pile of malodorous elephant droppings was irresistable.

Does Fitzgerald have any cover up history?

"Coincidentally, the U.S. Attorney for Chicago, Patrick Fitzgerald, on the job for only a couple of weeks, had extensive experience as a terrorism prosecutor and immediately became involved in the investigation of BIF [Benevolence International Foundation] and GRF [Global Relief Foundation]"

I sincerely doubt anything is going to happen to Scooter Libby. Here's why.

Harriet Meiers is off the bench. She isn't in the running anymore. She was a pawn, given up so that the libs who are driving this investigation, will relent when they get their stooge nominated to the Supreme Court.

If anyone will get spanked, it will be Libby, because he's a nobody, who has no real significance. He'll be hung out to dry in order to protect everyone in this administration, but that scenario is unlikely.

I am of the mind that all this stuff will result in NOTHING. The reason? The outing of Valerie Plame does not fit with the law as it was written in 1982. She was not a covert operative. She wasn't even undercover. She was a KNOWN CIA ASSET. Seeing Eye dogs knew she was an agent. Wilson's indignance should scream out an agenda.

I look at the events as having gone down like this. Joe Wilson's wife is outed as a means to not only discret Wilson for the Niger Documents, but to inoculate the CIA from further investigation into the intelligence failures that brought us to an illegal war.

If Libby gets pinched, he won't talk. He likely knows nothing, and more importantly, will not lose any money or his job. I can promise everyone here, that this Dog and Pony show is a means to cover up the real issue that our government allowed 9-11 to happen, that they forged documents that lead us to an illegal war, and how they've fucked the American People for the next 30 years with higher taxes, and less freedom.

I know this is going to come as a shock to some people tho think that Libby is going down for the count, and the rest of the clowns will to, but it just aint going to happen. We've had 4 years since 9-11, and what has been done to close our borders? What has happened to the so called accountability of our leaders? Nothing... This will result in nothing as well.

So many morons, so few bullets.

Alas, I wouldn't be at all surprised, Tommy. What you say sounds perfectly logical.

I just got an e-mail from http://Newsmax.com. Guess what??? Libby is not going to be indicted on the most serious charges. They're going to pull his indictments. This whole thing is a sham.

So many morons, so few bullets.
