i happened into a neighbor's living room during the iran/contra hearings, and watched ollie north for a minute or so... you could tell by the camera angle that ollie was a hero... that low angle, the pious and heroic expression on his face...

maybe i was oversensitive to that kind of manipulation, never having owned a television... watching mostly while cooped up in motel rooms, sound off, maybe maxed out on weed.

fifteen seconds of it was enough... it looked like bullshit, and it was bullshit.

...but ronnie got us started, but good, down the road to fascism, so all is forgiven.
